A small imp lay in a young man's shadows. She smiled as twilight settled over the sky. She looked up at its dark blue and spicy violets. She watched the colors fade until stars began to break through the sky. She felt images flash through her head of everything that happened through their quest. The imp let out a small giggle.
The young man turned to look at her. "What?" Link asked raising a brow. "Nothing." Link narrowed his eyes. "Tell me," he urged. "Still stubborn as ever," she thought rolling her eyes.
"Just thinking that without me, your stupidity would get the best of you," she said smirking. "Really?" he said sarcastically. His ocean blue eyes found their gaze settling on the stars."Just think about it, tomorrow you will be battling Ganondorf," she murmured. She turned her head choosing her words carefully.
"Link, do you ever wish you didn't hold this burden on your shoulders?" He looked over blinking. "You mean me being a hero?" She rolled her eyes again. "Yes what else?" she thought.
She nodded, an un-amused look spreading across her shadowy face. "Yes, but I'll do whatever it takes to save Hyrule," he answered his voice full of determination. "You're brave, Link," she whispered still gazing at the stars.
"You too, Midna…" he murmured as he felt drowsiness dawn on him. He slowly closed his eyes, not wanting to say goodbye to the stars. He also didn't want to come to terms that he would be fighting Ganondorf in a few fading stars.
"Have pleasant dreams ..Link," she whispered. As Link finally fell into his dreams Midna whispered a simple "I love you." She turned over before closing her eyes. "I love you too."
