How many times over the years, have all of us sacrificed something? Felt as if we were being bled dry, and no one around you could understand the emotional toile? It's times like that; you must move on and start a new. A place, where you will not be judged and no one knows your name. Every now and then… You just have to escape for your own sanity. How can so many people depend on one person who is not even stable herself? I keep asking myself that, and it finally has come down to this. Maybe, someday, I'll see all of them again with their families grown and happy.

Someday…

The Beginning of Freedom

The setting sun kissed the sky with lush colors of orange and pink, before it descended and the night took way. Under the cover of darkness, Serena disappeared into the shadows, sending her silent prayers out to those she loved. It was only for them, that she even considered returning in the long un-seen future. She was thankful for the one companion that would accompany her anywhere, Wolf. A hand lifted and gently scratched between furry ears of the black wolf at her side.

The intimidating creature had stumbled upon her nearly 5 years ago nothing but a pup that chewed on anything of value she owned. Not being able to think of a creative enough name, she simply continued to call him "Wolf" and it fitted him quite well. He truly was a beautiful creature, long bodied and ample paws covered in muscle and an ebon coat. Two piercing golden eyes stood out against the rest of his dark exterior. He was her friend and constant guardian. With him, she never feared, and he would be with her on this next journey.
