I found out quite some of these fanfics around the web and decided that I should try to make one. All factions derive from the Warhammer 40k Universe, I have no ownership of any of them. They all belong to Games Workshop.

Now begin

Chapter one.

Home invasion

Segmentum Solar. 2 M. Terra -3:45 PM

You know those days that somehow manage to unload all of the bad stuff on you at once. Well I just got one with an impossibility flavored main course.

Coming home from my job at the museum, the day had gone fast, mind you, and the remodeling crew came in so I decided to go straight home this day, mostly because it was raining. When I arrived home I heard the TV on. Thinking little of it at the time as my younger brother would normally just come home from school and watch TV or play his video games.

Must be one hell of a movie or game by the sounds of that laser shooting. I thought at the time, while I dug around in my pocket for the keys. More sounds of shooting and shouts followed. Damn, okay it has my interest. It sounds bloody vicious. I might play or watch it with him later on.

"Space Marines attack!" Came the roar from inside. Okay maybe it's a bit loud, that's odd for him, he usually never puts the TV loud. Finally finding the key, I dug it into the door lock and opened the entrance to the house.

"Hey Justin, lower the volu-" As I entered the house I realized that the TV was not on, nor was my brother home. What was however, it was an army of thumb sized soldiers and their respective vehicles all aiming and shooting at each other.

I just stared there at the completely impossible scenario happening right before my eyes. Eventually I did what any normal person does when confronted with a scaled down war right in the middle of your living room… I freaked out.

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?!"

My booming voice flew across the room and all attention came to the source of the sound. Nearly all one thousand eyes turned to me. Gazing up to me with varying mixtures of shock and awe.

And I myself was far too spellbound to do anything as we kept staring at each other.

It was then that a general gave an order to a tank to shoot at me. Thankfully I noticed the barrel of it turning to me and before it could manage to fire I shoved my sealed umbrella at it, sending the tank spiraling and missing its shot, hitting the wall. I then went on and grabbed the tank and hoisted it over my shoulder, ready to shoot it at anything that dared to act rowdy. I didn't care if there were people inside; they just tried to shoot me!

"Okay, the next one who dares to aim at me I can and WILL shoot this tank at you, are we clear?!" That seemed to have its effect as some armored vehicles pointed their barrels away from me. The rest of the figures were practically stiff. Some began hiding behind larger things, others were just looking at me with sheer shock on their faces. Not knowing what to do or too scared to try anything.

"Now… I suppose that you all have some form of leader or representative. I want those leaders to go over by…" looking around to find a place to hold the conference, "…the coffee table, over there. The rest of you; STOP FUCKING FIGHTING, and BEHAVE! Go and sit on a corner or something. NOW!"

And following suit they went on with my orders; tanks and infantry moving off to the corners and settling down. It was then that I realized that I had a tank on my hands, with people inside so I put it down and soon after the tank drivers started pouring out, some vomiting the moment they got out and others rolling out the tank dizzy as hell. Okay maybe I should have used something else.

The leaders took about fifteen minutes to get to the table. Apparently some of their forces were lost around the house and they had to be reorganized and stopped from attacking at each other, by me and the various officers more than a couple of times.

When it was all done and settled they had gathered on the coffee table in a small semicircle. As far as I could tell there are two factions here, one was human, or at least mostly so, their technology was similar all throughout their units, and the other were, what I heard later, the tau. The latter used mecha suits and laser weapons. Both were looking wearily at each other and at me, unsure whether to start shooting at each other or not. "Well, introductions." I broke the stiff atmosphere. "I'm Conner, the owner of this house, and you are?"

They began speaking all simultaneously, each raising their voices higher and higher trying to out-volume the others. "ENOUGH!" I slammed my fist onto the table and they all shut up instantly, I had just about lost my patience with these people. "Okay, one at a time! First you people," I pointed at the humans, "figure out who speaks first and then talk." After a brief discussion amongst themselves they drew a conclusion on what order they will speak.

One stepped forward. He was a man clad in a thick cloak with enough medals to add about a whole pound to him. He also had two thick gauntlets with a skull on each of the backhands "I am-"

Then cutting his sentence the door opened and my brother came forth. "WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?!"

Oh boy.

"Holly shit Conner…holly shit. Sweet merciful Emperor… The Frigging Imperium of Man!" Justin looked from the humans to the mecha suited warriors. "And the Tau!"

"You know them?" Asking, already dually confused. I mean, these little bastards appeared in our house, that's on itself completely impossible, but my brother knowing these freaks? WTF?! How?

"Well…hum. They are from a game. It's called Warhammer 40k. And these guys…" He kept awing at them which made most feel uneasy. I mean I was uneasy, imagine them, being revered by a giant. "Oh my god… oh. Pardon my manners. I know it must be confusing being in your position. I'm Justin, Conner's younger brother. And you guys are?"

The interrupted general cleared his throat and spoke, looking wearily at my brother, "I am General Ariel Grievous, I command the 127th Cadian armored company."

"From Cadia?" Justin asked him back, wonder etched on his features. The general just nodded an affirmative still with a cautious look on his face. "Okay, the commissar?"

The commissar hearing my brother slipped his pistol back into the holder. He had a very scarred face, wore black clothing along with one of those WWII Russian hats. He looked itching to fire that pistol, but I couldn't tell at whom, the enemy or his men. "Commissar Lord Socres Meller. I am here to ensure discipline amongst the guard." He finished with a proud tone, signaling he enjoyed what he did.

"Okay, oh and commissar, you're not allowed to blam people here." Cheers went throughout the guard. The commissar stared at my brother wide eyed, unbelieving what he just heard. "Okay next." Pointing at a robed man with one hell of a huge chainsaw.

"I am father Charles. I guess you know what I do right boy?" The priest asked with a wry smile on his face. Wanting to see for himself Justin's degree of knowledge about them.

"Yes sir. All hail the God Emperor of Mankind. The Glorious Graceful Guardian of the Human race and the Holy Light in the Warp." My brother's honest reply came as a shock to me as it did many on of the soldiers, somehow it got some reactions, different ones, but amongst the humans, it seemed a positive one. Some actually became more relaxed. The priest smiled more as he replied. "Excellent…"

How much does my brother know about this people…and their religion? Does he even follow it? I don't know anything anymore…

"And …oh fuck a psyker!" My brother became more exited still.

"A wha..?"

He directed to a black cloaked guy that held a staff with a two headed eagle at the tip and he was constantly twitching. "Oh please can you tell us who you are with your telepathy?"

"Wait, WHAT?!"

"I'd knew you'd say that! I am sanctioned psyker Loid Gebrasky. Hahaha! It's a pleasure!"

HOLY FUCKING HELL! I jumped on my couch at the crazy voice in my mind. I now know I must be dreaming, no this is a nightmare! I want out!

"It is not a nightmare!" The mad man spoke this time out loud. Smiling like a deranged psycho at us. I don't want him anywhere near my brother. "Oh don't worry I love children! I could never do anything to yer little brother…well maybe beat him endlessly at rock paper scissors! Haha!" Nope he stays away.

"NO!"

The psychic psycho bowed his head, "Aawww…!"

"All righty then, space marines if you'd please."

These guys looked like massive armored bears with guns. The one that walked forward had blue armor with gold trims, he also had an omega symbol with a double headed eagle on one of his shoulder plates, "My name is Brother captain Noel Grantz of the Omegamarines Chapter, third company. I came with a few divisions of my chapter, along with some of others as to aid the armies we had amassed to destroy a Chaos force." He spoke with a deep monotonous voice; it carried no uneasiness, no fear.

He then turned and signaled at the others that accompanied him. "To spare you some time, this is Sargent Leonidas of the Raven Guard…" He pointed at one who wore black armor and a HUGE jetpack on his back, "Chaplain Zachariah, of the Dark Angels," Another big guy, this one wore black as well but had a skull helmet…really creepy. "Chief apothecary Daniel Caldar of the Crimson Fists" This marine wore white and had one pauldron yellow with a fist and the other with a medical symbol, "And last is Librarian Mithas he belongs to the Blood Ravens. We have not found their force since we arrived here; most likely he's the only survivor. We have other sergeants and officials but these are the highest ranking amongst our forces at the moment."

My brother looked at the dark red armored librarian and then back at me, this man is the sole survivor of his army, and he looked like nothing had passed, he had next to no signs of grief on his face, "That is, Mr. Conner, because we are space marines, we don't grief over the dead, sure we mourn them, but we do not sully the memories of our battle brothers with grief and tears. We are the Emperor's finest. We cannot allow ourselves that privilege."

"…" Holy shit, wait did he also just…

"Yes. I just did. Twice now." Oh god another mind reader!

"Oookay…next. The Tau commander if you please. Oh can you use the translated version of your name please?" Justin interjected.

"All right Gue'la Justin." Gue'la? "…mhm…I believe Commander Nightfire would do. With me there's Ethereal Aun'Ni Vas'Ui and Kroot shaper Solad." The Tau spoke with an oriental accent, he looked fearsome in his large blue/yellow suit, and the other at his right wore no armor, instead of using guns he had a staff. And that other thing by him…some freak show of a tailless lizard man thing. Something came crawling at the back of my mind.

That Ethereal or whatever he was, he had a staff too like the psyker and the librarian…could he also read minds? "Uh, can the Ethereal… uhm…read minds too?"

"No." Came the dual response of my brother and the Ethereal. They looked at each other for a brief instance and my brother decided to speak for him. "The Tau race has little presence in the warp. As a consequence they cannot use psychic powers like telepathy or such. However it does give them a slight advantage as they have resistance to the powers of the Warp."

"Oh…okay." Okay I feel much better. The aliens are fine. Then I heard a scoff. I looked down at the psychics seeing the imperial and the librarian looking at me with cross faces, like if I had just said something wrong… wait a minute… "What?"

"Accepting xenos into your domain is a recipe for disaster; remember this for the near future."

"Wait a minute, who said I was going to let you stay here?!" I said. After they appeared in my house, they shot nearly the whole living room, tore holes through the windows and into the walls, burned nearly a courter of the carpet. Left burn marks across the wood AND they shot the TV too! Now I have to buy a new one. And let's not forget that one of them just ordered one of their fucking tanks on me! I was about to stand up and tell them out but my brother stood up before me and took me to away.

"We are not throwing them out." He said.

"I beg your pardon?"

"We are not throwing them out. Conner listen, they are scared and confused and just appeared here in this world that is 40 times bigger than them with one of their enemies, what would you have done in their place?"

"I don't know, but we can't keep them, how are we going to feed one thousand hungry mouths? And what if they start attacking each other again? Or worse, they decide to take us out at night?"

"…Conner…" He looks at me with one of those looks, the ones that make you think hard and long on what he's going to say, "They are going to die if we don't help them. If they get thrown out in this world they can and will die. The TV can be replaced but not a life. Imagine that someone finds them; do you think that someone will not try to study them, dissect them and such? You and I know that we can't kick them out." I thought long and hard on his words.

"Why is it that you are the voice of reason in this house?" He smiled.

"I don't know, genes?"

"But how are we going to deal with them? I mean the need to eat."

"How about we think about that when we have all calm down and settled?"

"All right."

We walked out on the living room and saw some of the thumb sized warriors shuffle back into their original position, most likely trying to listen in on what we were saying.

"So…ah…are we staying?" Spoke the general.

Justin looked at me and cocked an eyebrow, "You guys can stay." A few cheers went by amongst the ranks, "But…" then 'Aaawws' replaced them, "There are a few rules regarding your stay."

"One…" Justin began, "fighting stops, full stop. There are some exceptions to this of course; you will be informed later of such. Two, and this is targeted towards you mostly commissar," He stiffened, looking at my brother. "executions are not permitted" the commissar looked at him with a depressed face, murmuring something along the lines of 'you already told me' "here's the exception to both of this rules, chaos worship and criminal acts, heresies non related to chaos must be forwarded to me or Conner before any form of punishment is administered. If either of us is absent for some reason or other then I'd prefer that you keep the transgressor in custody if it is possible." The various leaders nodded in understanding, commenting amongst themselves, but there was a general agreement to the rules. Damn look at Justin, giving dictations like a ruler, is it weird that I am getting a little pride from this? "I would like you all to give me summary on the quantity of food and resources you have at your disposal by the end of the afternoon. Also I would like your assistance in repairing any damages done to the house from your little skirmish earlier. We will give the both of you some room to minimalize contact between the different factions." Justin thought for a moment, thinking what he might have missed. "I can't think of any more rules for the moment…" He said under his breath. "Well, let's get started."

They all nodded in agreement.
