Hey guys! Alright so this story takes place during The Long Way Down Job. Its about Parker's feelings during the whole experience. So I hope you like it! Enjoy!
"He died here? Alone?"
Alone
It was a word she knew very well. A word that she was connected to on many levels a word she knew inside and out because that was how she lived.
Parker was used to the word alone. She had been many times and it did not bother her to be alone because in the end she always knew she would be. It did not bother her that she had been left. It didn't bother her that she had to live life without anyone. She was strong and she knew how to deal. She had stolen alone, she had slept alone, she had eaten alone, and she had lived alone.
Hearing about this man's death had affected Parker. Even though the word was familiar, it now sounded foreign and horrible now. As though this tiny little thing could destroy everything. She didn't think anyone else would ever feel alone. At least as alone as she had. She did not know it was possible.
Parker wanted to make sure this man was not as alone as she had been her whole life.
"I want to do the right thing Elliot!"
The right thing
It was something that she had never done. Sometimes she thinks she doesn't know what it means to do so. Sometimes she wonders if she ever will. She is not Nate, or Sophie, or Hardison, she was Parker, and Parker steals things and jumps off buildings. Parker never does the right thing, but this man. He needed someone to do the right thing for him. He didn't want his wife to feel pain. He was used to doing the right thing.
Parker was going to make sure everything was done right for him.
"If it were Nate, or Sophie, or ever Hardison they would've died down here trying to get him out. Me and you, we're different Parker."
Different
She knew that word. She knew she was different. She had been told countless times. She was sure Elliot knew the word almost as well as she knew alone. Elliot and Parker were different from the team. They didn't usually do what was expected. They never really did the right thing. They just got the job done.
Sometimes Parker didn't really like being different.
"Elliot! No! That's all we have left!"
All we have left
She wasn't used to that phrase. It had always been her, by herself, but somehow she always found a way to get through. She never had to hand onto something so precious. She never had to be afraid to have someone give up on her, because there was no one around to give up on her. This was serious, ever though the phone was now in the man's pocket.
Elliot knew it didn't matter if we really had the diary; it was worth far less than her getting hurt in his eyes was. So, he threw it to the man. Slowly he lowered his gun and threw the diary on the ground lighting it on fire. She just looked at it and she knew.
she had failed this time. The phone she had put in his pocket would not do any good. This man would be alone forever.
It was her entire fault.
