Jaune couldn't believe it. His partner, Pyrrha Nikos had gone off to fight Cinder Fall. Was Pyrrha crazy, Cinder beat Ozpin! How could Pyrrha stand a chance against someone with the powers of the fall maiden. Jaune thought about only this as he raced back towards Beacon Academy. Nothing was keeping him from his partner. Any grimm he encountered were killed on the spot, or simply ignored. He didn't have time to waste, not when Pyrrha was in danger. He didn't know what he could do to help, but what he did know is that Pyrrha was fighting Cinder alone. As Jaune recalled the recent events that led up to this situation. He recalled the conversation he and Pyrrha had before the finals. He knew something was wrong, but he didn't try to figure out what it was. Jaune grimaced as he realized his answer hadn't helped her either. It was his fault Pyrrha was doing this, or at least it felt like it.

After thinking of what got them here one thought lingered in Jaune's head: "Why did she kiss me?" Pyrrha could have easily shoved him into that locker without distracting him, and even if she had to distract him she wouldn't have kissed him. Pyrrha, to simply put it, didn't do that sort of thing. Pyrrha was a honest, kind, considerate person. She wouldn't have done something like that without good reason. "She wouldn't have kissed me, unless..." Jaune's musings were interrupted by an Ursai lumbering his way.

"I'm an idiot, aren't I."

The Ursai roared in response.

Pyrrha couldn't fight anymore. Her aura was completely gone, and she couldn't even walk thanks to a glass arrow in her ankle. Cinder walked over to her, a smirk on her face, they both new who would survive this. Cinder then formed a bow and took aim at her heart.

Before Cinder ended her life Pyrrha wanted to know something.

"Do you believe in destiny?"

Before Pyrrha could get her answer another voice replied: "FUCK NO!" Pyrrha looked up to see a weapons locker closing in were Cinder was standing. Cinder, of course dodged the projectile, having no time to do anything else.

"Who dares!" Cinder screamed at the intruder, as she ripped open the locker. Jaune's immediate answer was to vomit on her face. While Cinder was trying to get Jaune's lunch out of her eyes said knight got over his motion sickness, and bashed Cinder in the face with his shield. Jaune rushed over to Pyrrha's side.

"You shouldn't have come back here, Jaune."

"I'm going to get you out of here, Pyrrha. You're going to live through this."

"Jaune..."

Sensing the doubt in her voice Jaune stopped her. "Pyrrha when this is all over, and you beat Cinder-"

"I can't-"

" When you beat her." Jaune stressed while interrupting Pyrrha.

Jaune paused, taking a moment to gather his thoughts.

"After you beat her I, Jaune Arc, will take you on the best date of your life."

After Jaune's declaration Pyrrha simply stared at him, wide eyed and slack jawed. This moment was unfortunately ruined by Cinder blasting Jaune to the other side of the roof.

"Now...where were we?" The fall maiden asked. Pyrrha glared at Cinder, and lunged.

The city of Vale was filled with the agonized screams of Cinder Fall, and to this day no one has found her body. On the bright side Jaune did keep his promise, and after they both got out of the hospital, Jaune took her on the best date ever.
