Chihiro Kohaku

Chihiro reluctantly let go of Kohaku's hand.
"Don't look back," He warned. Chihiro grabbed one last look at her love, her best friend, before she stumbled down the rocky hillside.

She could still feel his hand holding hers, ever so gently.

She stopped, her head turning ever so slowly. She snapped her head forward, and continued running down the hill.

At the bottom, however, she stopped again.

Torn between her true love, and her parents.

She ached all over. Was this some sick game? How was she supposed to choose?

After an age, she cranked her head slowly round, her body following, until she completed a half turn, and looked up the hill to Kohaku.

His face was robbed of the grin he had on it. It filled with horror, rising and rising through his body until he was bathed in it. He made a couple of steps forward, reaching out his hand, his face pale.

As soon as his hand stuck it, it began to crumple.

His arm shook, and it broke like a cake, crumbs of his body falling down and blowing away in the wind. He feel to his knees, screaming in agony as his whole body broke apart, becoming mere partials in the blowing wind.

He was gone.

Chihiro stared and stared. What had just happened?

Just then, there was a low rumble, and the sprit village which she had come to love, shook violently in the distance.

It came to the same end as Kohaku.

Chihiro watched as the crumbled to the ground, becoming nothing.

She blinked back tears, sadness and grieve rising in her stomach like a balloon filling with air.

She jumped, as her dad put an arm on her shoulder.

"Come on Chihiro- there's just and empty field here, nothing to see. We need to hurry. We don't want to be late,"

Chihiro stared and stared.

She nodded slowly, not daring herself to speak in case she broke down.

It was gone.
