Never Had a Friend
Hi guys! I always get really nervous posting to a new fandom. I have wanted to write this for a while as always please review I really want to know what you think.
Disclaimer:
Sadly I don't own Aladdin if I did I would give the Genie a massive hug!
"Genie, you coming?" Aladdin asked glancing back at him.
"No you go on ahead kid i'll see you later," Genie said waving him off.
"But Genie, I kinda need you with me. I need your help," Aladdin said.
"Of course you do, lets go then," he said a level of bitterness mixing with his tone as he made to follow him.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Aladdin demanded.
"Nothing let's go, master."
"What is your problem?"
"What do you care?" the Genie snapped.
"I don't need this! You are meant to be helping me not being difficult and putting a downer on everything. I thought you were my friend why are you being like this?" Aladdin yelled.
"No, i'm not your friend," he said.
"Sure you are, what are you talking about?" Aladdin asked looking at him.
"You aren't my friend. You don't know anything about me, you don't even know my name or bother to even ask it. You know nothing about the things I like or don't like. None of that matters to you, what matters is what I can do for you, that's all that really matters to anyone in the end," he said quietly.
"I…I Gen..I never meant, I just I guess I never thought…" he trailed off.
"Course you didn't why would you, a Genie that can grant wishes why would anything else matter," he said.
"Look it's not like that okay, what is your name?" he asked.
He laughed slightly shaking his head. "Forget it kid," he said.
"No, come on tell me. I want to know," he protested.
"You only want to know after I pointed it out to you. That's not friendship, that's guilt I don't want that. I shouldn't have said anything, forget I said anything," he said.
"No I can't come on tell me what to do," he begged.
"Nothing you can do but there is something I can do, forget I said anything," he said and with a flash of light Aladdin forgot the entire conversation.
"Genie you coming?" Aladdin asked.
"Sure kid lets go!" he said with an explosion of sparks and parlour tricks that made Aladdin laugh as they left. None of them really cared about him, it was about time he accepted that and stopped hoping for more it only made it harder.
