Disclaimer: I don't own Monk, Trudy, Natalie, Randy or Leland

Monk coughed, sputtered and gasped. He knew his life was nearing an end and he was frightened. At this point however he was relieved to get away from the pain and the OH GOD the germs. Natalie, Leland and Randy sat near him in the hospital room. Natalie was crying openly.

The room started to fade as if it were a picture exposed to too much light.

"Don't be afraid," came a gentle female voice.

Monk knew that voice. It was the voice of the greatest being that ever walked the planet. It was Trudy's voice.

"Am I dead," he asked her

"Not yet darling," Trudy said, "almost. But it's not dead. You'll still be alive. It's just in a different place"

"Heaven," he asked

"Of course!"

"What's it like," he asked her

"Oh Adrian," she told him, "You'll love it. Even the air is clean"

He could hear the beep, beep, beep of his heart monitor faintly. He didn't care.

"The air is clean," he asked amazed.

"Yes. There's no germs, no waste-"

"It sounds wonderful," he admitted

"The best part by far is," she told him, "We'll be able to be together again"

"That's all I've ever wanted since I lost you. But we were 35 when you went away. It's 12 years later-"

"Adrian there is no age in heaven," Trudy told her husband, "there's no fear. There's no H.A. that isn't funny-"

He smiled at that. It was a private joke between the two of them.

"There's nothing but perfection and us"

He could hear himself flat-line as Trudy took his hand.

"It's alright she told him, "Look"

He saw the pearly gates being opened to him. He took Trudy's hand and kissed it gently as together they entered the pearly gates. Finally, Adrian was alive even though he had died.
