ANXIETY

You knew about his anxiety from the moment you two started to date, a few months back. Besides being an adorable and kind human being, Sonny had so many classic anxiety symptoms that you dared to ask him once or twice about it, but, of course, he said no. And you understand that, because he was a SVU detective and he couldn't have this kind of problem on his mind, even if it was begining to haunt him like a ghost.

When they worked on his niece's case, things got really bad. Sonny spend all day without talking to you. No cute messages, no calls, nothing at all because of his niece. And you didn't push him, knowing that Family was a huge thing for Sonny.

You worked during the day on a bookstore and spend some all nights at college studiyng. Your Literature's bachelor depended on that. So when you arrived at your usual time, humming a song to yourself and the door opened to fast for you to understand what happened, you heard him yell, grabbing your arm and pulling you inside.

"Where the hell have you been?" He demanded. His eyes were redish and his body was trembeling. "I called you twelve times! Twelve! Where have you been? You got me worried sick, Y/N!"

"Sonny... You know where I was. At college!"

"You... What?"

"Like every night, I was at college. You need to calm down, okay?"

He was so taller than you, but he looked a bit childish with his hair all messy and those average clothes, so different from his work clothes. "I-I... I'm so sorry, Y/N... I just... God... My heart..." he sat at the couch with shaky hands.

"Sonny, hey, look at me. You're having a panic attack, okay?"

"But I can't..."

"Just listen, okay? You can't choose that. You're having a panic attack." You took both his hands. "Sonny, breath with me, okay? Can you do that?"

"Y-yes..."

You breath through your nose and exaled through the mouth, all the basic breathing exercise your therapist taught you in those kinds of situations. "Don't try to change that, okay? Just breath."

He was breathing with you, his eyes were full of tears at that time, but you keep it focus, placing one of your hands on his chest so you could feel his heartbeat slowly calming down. "Keep breathing, Sonny."

"Y/N..."

"I'm right here, Sonny."

"Thank you."

You smiled and nod with your head, sitting next to him at the couch. "You know... When this happens to me, after it, I usually like to find something nice to eat or something comfy."

"Hot chocolate?"

"How about hot chocolate and one of those Netflix original series?"

Sonny smiled, but his lips were trembeling when he hugged you tight. "That'll be perfect, doll..."

"I'll grab the blankets. Choose something nice for us to watch, okay?"
