Hanging upside down over a cauldron of boiling water was not how Natsu planned on going out. Looking around for away out the salmon man sighed when onyx eyes couldn't find away out of this. The ground suddenly started shaking and deep grumbles got slightly louder with every shutter of the ground. Natsu was his with a smell mixed between trash and skunk, also not a smell he wants to die to. A beefy hand twisted the male around, the man was fast to fast with a creature smacked one to many times with the ugly stick.
"Mmm, you sure look yummy boy." The thing grumbled, it's voice gravely and deep.
"Thanks man, but I don't roll that way." Natsu mumbled trying not to breath through his nose, because man this thing hasn't heard of breath mints,
"How should I cook you up?" The thing mumbled turn away from the salmon haired male.
"Maybe you shouldn't I might have some other purpose." Natsu suggested smiling nervously.
"Nah, I'm hungry for some nice human." It smiled.
"Ugh." Natsu groaned.
Natsu's mind began to wonder back to how this all started out.
*5 Hour prier*
"Did you hear about the beast that lives in the cave in the forest." A random stranger whispered next to a salmon haired male and a man with ink colored hair.
"Yeah, I heard they hired someone a couple towns over to come and kill it." The man across from him answered thoughtfully.
"I bet you couldn't kill it before the other person does." The man with ink colored hair smirked.
"I so could." The salmon haired one laughed.
"Oh yeah," The dark haired one challenged standing up. "why not put your money where your mouth is. Fifty say you'll either come back half dead not at all."
"Fine!" The salmon haired man accepted. "Wait how will you get the money if I'm dead?"
"I know where you hide your money." The other answered automatically.
"What the hell Gray!"
"Calm down Natsu. I'm pretty sure everyone know." Gray coolly brushes off his 'friend's' out burst.
"That makes it so much better." Natsu grumbled lowly.
Walking away from Leo, Percy tried to come up with a game plan to defeat the beast. Scratching his head Percy pushed the door to his little shack open. A loud bark greeted the man home, looking down, at the odd blue cat, the man smiled widely. Picking up the cat he made his way to a hammock at the back of the little house.
"Hey Happy." Natsu laughed, flopping down on the hammock.
"Ayee" Happy meowed oddly.
"I'm going to be gone for a few days bud. I've got a monster to kill!" Natsu cheered, petting the blue cat.
Natsu got up and started packing a sack with clothes and food. With a final stroke to the cats' fur, Natsu turned and left. Making his way to the woods behind the his house, with a loud laugh the boy began his journey to the monster's cave. Half way in the forest Natsu felt the ground begin to shake.
"What the hell?" Natsu mumbled grabbing a tree for support.
"I smell delicious human!" A gravely voice growled, near Natsu's location.
"Shit..." Natsu grumbled, climbing the tree he was leaning against.
"Come out, come out were ever you are~!" The thing cooed.
Natsu breathed in deeply and almost threw up due to the thing's smell. With a gag the thing reached up and pulled him out of the tree. Now Natsu did scream when he came face to face with the thing. It smiled and threw him in a bag, with dead animals.
*Back To Present*
"Ah, found the perfect recipe to cook you human!" The monster cheered.
"Great..." Natsu trailed off sadly.
"Be back with the stuff in a second." The monster ambled off.
"Ugh, why did I agree!" Natsu cried out.
"Okay human boy. Greg's back." The thing 'Greg', walked back in with odd herbs in hand.
"Hey ugly!" A sweet voice yelled out to the beast.
"How dare you call me ugly!" Greg roared, facing a small blonde woman.
"Don't worry I've seen much worst." She smiled.
"Hey be careful!" Natsu yelled to her. The girl blink and looked straight at Natsu confused.
"Huh. Already caught dinner." The woman threw her head back and laughed. " Okay ugly, why don't you pick on some one your own size.
Greg charged at the woman with raised fists, she stood there in a relaxed position. When his fists made contact with the ground everything shook and the ground cracked. Natsu squinted trying to see the woman, but couldn't find her. A soft giggled echoed through out the cave, then all Natsu heard was a earsplitting roar. The girl appeared in his eyesight again blood splattered on the white blouse and blue skirt.
"Hey there." She smiled. "Need any help?"
"Just a little." Natsu laughed.
She kicked the cauldron of boiling water over and sat on the table, waiting for the water to cool and the flame to go out. After a few minutes she got down and flipped the cauldron over to use as a step stool, she cut the ropes and Natsu fell like a sack of potatoes. She laughed at his quiet whimpers of pain.
"Come on, lets get you home." She giggled, holding her hand out for him.
"Thanks." Natsu laughed.
"So what's your name?" She asked when they reached the mouth of the cave.
"Natsu Dragneel." He smiled, sticking his hand out. "You?"
"Lucy Heartfilia" Lucy smiled.
"Cool." Natsu laughed. "Nice to meet you Lugi!"
"That is not my name!" Lucy screeched smacking him.
"Hey." Natsu whined.
"Learn your princess's name, you dolt!" Lucy huffed and began walking away.
"Sorry." Natsu laughed running to catch up with the mumbling princess.
Just a random thing that popped into my mind while I was reading some writing prompts on Pinterest. It was going to be a Percy Jackson story but I don't think it would go with any of my shippings for that fandom. Please enjoy my little drabble .
