One thing Felicity Smoak had always wanted was a white Christmas even though technically she didn't celebrate Christmas because she was Jewish. The idea of snow at Christmas had always made her heart happy, but alas that did not happen often in Starling City. Sure, it turned cold enough to need a thick, winter coat. But, snow managed to elude the city during the holidays.
Even though Christmas wasn't her holiday, she knew how much Oliver and Diggle loved it. Both men seemed more lighthearted and joyful in this week before Christmas. Felicity suspected Diggle loved Christmas so much because of his young nephew. There was just something about the excitement of a child at Christmas that could get just about anyone in the Christmas spirit.
Oliver, on the other hand, had taken some thought on Felicity's part. She finally chalked it up to him being so grateful for a second chance at life and to spend Christmas with his family again. This was their first official Christmas as Team Arrow, so Felicity wanted to make it special for her guys.
For Diggle, she found the perfect sniper scope that he'd been talking about for months now. She couldn't help but chuckle at the look of wonderment on his face when he had opened his gift earlier that evening. He looked like a kid himself.
She had left Oliver's gift for him at the lair. After he finished patrolling, he sent her and Diggle home while he stayed behind to get in some workout time. He claimed he needed a night to himself and assured both of them that everything was just fine.
Felicity, however, knew better. This was the first Christmas since Tommy had died. She knew from conversations she'd had with Oliver that Tommy absolutely loved Christmas time. So, she did as he asked, but not before leaving his gift wrapped in green wrapping paper lying next to his gym bag.
After taking a nice, long bath and enjoying a glass of her favorite red wine, she settled in on her bed to browse through her favorite blogs. Thirty minutes later, a knock on her apartment door startled her out of reading a very interesting post about a particle accelerator. When she opened the door, her heart lept into her throat. There stood Oliver with tears in his beautiful blue eyes.
Before she could speak, Oliver swept her into his arms.
"Thank you, Felicity. I love it," he breathed against her neck. Felicity sighed before placing a chaste kiss to the shell of his ear.
"You're welcome," she whispered.
"Where did you find that picture?" Oliver asked as pulled back slightly.
"Thea found it actually. She shared it with me the other day and I just knew that you needed a framed copy of your own. Tommy loved you so much Oliver and all he ever wanted for you was to be happy."
"Well, he got what he wanted then, didn't he?" Oliver quipped before placing a lingering kiss to her forehead. He stepped back out in the hallway.
"Good night, Oliver," Felicity said with a smile as she leaned against her apartment door.
"Merry Christmas, Felicity," Oliver replied before walking away with a smile on his face.
