*******************************Author's note**********************************

I realize that this will probably be entirely irrelevant by tomorrow's episode, but I wrote this and I wanted to post it.

Sorry for any mistakes. Please point them out if you notice them and I'll fix them.

Pan disappeared into the trees. Hook stared ahead, battling silently with himself over the new internal conflict Pan had just laid out before him.

On the one hand, he could tell Emma what Pan had just told him, help reunite the entire family. Let Emma and Neal be together, let Henry have a whole family; both his parents. A luxury Hook had already deprived Baelfire of. They would all thank him graciously, they might finally accept him as a friend.

But no more than that.

One the other hand he could withhold the information. Emma need never know. They could save Henry and leave Neverland, together. She was starting to see him for what he could be, who he was deep down, rather than the Pirate facade he'd hidden behind for all these long years.

And man, that had been a great kiss.

He veered slightly toward the latter option, but paused in his decision.

She could find out about Neal without him telling her. In fact, with his luck she would. Then where would he be? Not even a friend; she would hate him for not telling her. Shun him, and if she looked at him he knew he wouldn't be able to bear her glare.

But what if she found out Neal was alive, and never learned that Hook had known? Then the decision would be up to her. That was a gamble, but Hook had always been pretty good at gambling, almost as good as he was with the ladies.

Or, if all else failed, he could always eliminate the competition.

What was he thinking!?

Was he really considering killing Neal? Baelfire? Mila's son? When had he become so cold hearted?

He decided not to try to answer that question.

Baelfire. Hook smiled fondly at the memories of the boy's short time aboard The Jolly Roger. He'd had such spirit, such natural talent. Sometimes, Hook still thought about how things could've been had Bae chosen to stay aboard.

But if that future had ever been possible, it definitely wasn't now. Baelfire was a grown man.

Hook had lost his chance at being a father to Bae, but what if he could have another chance with Henry? He was Mila's grandson, after all, Hook realized. He'd never thought of that before, but now it made the second choice seem even more tempting; the woman he now loved, and a piece of the woman he'd loved long ago.

But that still left Baelfire out in the cold. The lad he'd grown so fond of, whom he still thought of almost as his own son. He didn't want to ruin Baelfire's chance at happiness. He didn't want to cause him to live through more misery than he already had. But Hook could think of no arrangement that included happiness for all of them; Emma, Bae, Henry, and himself.

His mind went back to the harsh words Bae had spoken to him last time they were together in Neverland.

"The only thing you'll ever care about is yourself!"

His resolve set. He would prove he was capable of caring for others. He would.

He would tell Emma that Neal was alive, no matter what it cost him. He set his jaw and turned toward the campsite.
