Just a Sam/Jules one shot I wrote the other day. It's not that great, but whatever.

Jules sat alone on her couch, curled up in blanket, reading her favorite book. She was happy and content, the perfect way to spend her night off. The silence was peaceful, the fire was warm, and she was almost to the good part in the story. It was then that her phone went off, disrupting the silence. She picked her cell phone up and flipped it open, pressing it against her ear. Her caller id told her it was Sam.
"Hello," She answered, slightly annoyed that he was interrupting her night to herself.
"Enjoying your night off?" Sam questioned from the other end of the line.
"Well I was, until you ruined it," Jules joked, placing her book down in front of her and switching the phone so she was holding it with her other hand.
"No fair," Sam laughed, "Although, you know, I know mine would be a whole lot better if you were here with me."
Jules shifted uncomfortably in her seat, she hated it when he did this to her, when he put her on the spot.
"We broke up, remember?" As she reminded him of their current relationship with each other, or lack there of, she looked up and her gaze happened to fall upon the photograph of the two of them together that she had on her coffee table. It was about time she took that down she thought as she reached her hand out and snapped it down, grimacing as she did so
"Ya, I still don't like that idea," Sam stated firmly.
"Sam..." Jules sighed, biting her lip. Why couldn't he just accept that they were over? This just made things harder and more complicated for her, and she didn't like it one bit.
"Oh, come on, Jules. You know you want to be together as much as I do." That blatant statement hit her hard. Jules shifted uncomfortably in her seat and reminded herself that just because he said it didn't make it true, but it also didn't make it false. To make herself feel better, she decided to play with him a little.
"Ya, it's too bad you're all the way across town, I just might have reconsidered my decision," Jules replied playfully as she nervously ran her fingers through her messy hair.
"I don't know about that," Sam told as her a puzzled expression took over Jules' face. "Turn around," He instructed her, Jules still baffled by his statement.
"What?" Jules muttered as she spun around. Outside on her back porch, looking in through the glass, was Sam, waiting patiently outside her back door, holding up his cell phone.
"What are you doing here?" She questioned into the phone as she slid the door open and let him inside. Her heart started pounding, a million thoughts were running through her mind, she didn't know what to do. Should she give in, or should she continue remain strong? Her heart and her brain were telling her two different things.
"What do you think?" Sam responded, pulling her in close as she caved and gladly reached her arms around him, her heart melting as his lips pressed against hers.
Maybe things weren't so complicated after all.
