"Sickening?" He dropped his hands from her face as if she's pushed him away. He sounded stunned.
"What we feel - what I feel, is sickening to you?"
"Of course not, I just mean -"
He turned away, "Don't bother Clary"
"Jace, stop!" Clary grabbed his wrist and, despite being much stronger than he, he let her spin him around. Clary no longer cared what anyone though, or what she was 'supposed' to say. Just the picture of Jace stood in front of her was enough to make her heart crumble. Just Jace stood there, looking...did he look heartbroken?
She pleaded with him "I'm trying to understand this and figure out what I'm going to do. I'm tired of pretending I don't care about you"
There. She had said the words she'd been longing to say, ever since that night at Renwick's. Finally the truth was out in the open and there was nothing she could do to take it back.
"Then don't..." He hesitated, taking a step towards her, so that they were almost pressed against each other and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Clary's heart was beating so fast, she felt as though she was going to burst.
"Don't pretend anymore" His hand lingered under her chin, tilting it upwards slightly. No longer able to bear the distance between herself and Jace, Clary reached up onto her tiptoes and covered his lips with hers. Taken by surprise, Jace took a sudden breath in, but was soon kissing her passionately; his hands running through her wild, loose hair.
