This is a dedication, I've never done anything like this. A friend of mine Germany, has an account on here and she published some work for me on here about a year ago maybe more. She inspired me and a lot of the work I have. This one in particular. Thank you, Germany
Max doesn't understand why Beni couldn't come in here. He handed Max some money for a paper and walked over to El Peris to talk to Peris. Max had been glad he didn't have to hear about his night out. He didn't understand what Beni suddenly talk had to him about.
Max is at the stand where the papers are, he has pulled one, looking for the date. He sees something out the corner of his eye. He had been trying to avoid him, it was why he had his back to him. Made getting the paper a little awkward. Clara kept some of the old papers for some who hadn't gotten one. The paper Max has is one of the old ones. "Need some help?" Iago making it sound like a normal question, like he was helping a customer. "I'm getting a paper for Beni." Max states.
Putting the paper he has back, picking out one another a pile over. Max's eyes peering across the way through Peris's windows. He sees Beni at the bar, sitting on one of the stools talking to him. Max feels annoyed at him for making him come in here. "Just the paper?" Iago asks. Max hears the underlying question. Max looks up at him, annoyed at the question.
Iago's eyes, their warm. Iago's eyes are looking at him. Not just looking, seeing. He had the same look the other night. When Max had wanted to leave. Its as if Iago is seeing his thoughts, knows what he is thinking. Talking to him even. Max breaks the trance Iago's eyes have him under, looks at the paper in his hand, the date he needs is on it. Why hadn't he grabbed the right paper before? Not wanting to be in the same place as Iago. He can see out of the corner of his eye, Iago has a smile on his face. How was Iago able to do that, make Max forget where he is? Make him forget what he's there for?
Max looks over at the counter, Clara is dealing with a customer, her eyes glancing over at them. Wondering if she will have to break up a fight. Max realizes he has been at the kiosk long enough. Max digs in his hoodie pocket for Beni's change. Beni just grabbed whatever he had and he handed it to Max, not even looking at it. Max counts it, picking out the extra, putting it back. He doesn't know why he isn't going to the counter for this. Because Clara is still dealing with a customer and giving Iago the change would be faster. He doesn't want to wait in line, he has been here too long and Beni is waiting for him.
Iago's hand out for the change, his hand over Iago's. Dropping the change into Iago's palm, Iago's fingers close around the change and around Max's fingers. Max's breath catches when Iago's fingers touch him. Max's hand relaxing after releasing the change, Iago's fingers have too, his palm still holding the change. Iago's fingers are holding his. A warm goes through Max's fingers. He looks in Iago's eyes, stunned by it. The warm he had seen in Iago's eyes before is warmer now. Its desire. Max feels like he's stopped breathing. He can see himself moving closer to Iago, touching Iago's lips with his, the change forgotten, the newspaper, even where he is. The warm almost flooding him as his mind comes back. It was only for a second, long enough for Iago's hand to almost close around his, Iago's thumb touching the back of Max's hand. Max pulls his hand back, side stepping Iago to leave.
Max feels like his body is over heated. His hand in his pocket, he didn't want anyone to see him shaking it out. There are little electric currents going through it. Clenching his hand and releasing it to get it to go away. It was only for a second. He has one question, how did that kiss feel so real? Mad at himself for even asking the question, he pulls the door open to El Peris.
