"I miss you."

Lavellan had been running around in this damn maze of trees for hours now, trying to find an exit that she was starting to believe didn't exist. Just as she was about to collapse in frustration she saw something glint in the corner of her eye. When she crouched down to pick it up she nearly broke down then and there.

It was Solas's necklace… she cradled the wolf jaw in her hands and traced the familiar curvature of the necklace with her thumb. It looked exactly the way it had when she had met him. Maker it had been so long ago, nearly two years…

Nearly two years of stolen kisses and whispered-

"Ar lath ma, vhenan."

She whipped around and mentally scolded herself for being so love-sick over the elf that had broken – no hurt her. She was not broken, something broken needed to be fixed, and she did not need to be fixed.

No one was behind her; it was just her mind playing tricks on her, it had to be…

"I'm sorry."

And still, no one was there. Lavellan looked down at her hands only to realize that the wolf jaw that she had been holding was gone. She fell to her knees, she was going insane wasn't she? She was going to wake up tomorrow and not even realize it because she had been possessed by a demon?

Suddenly, she saw two bare feet in front of her. It couldn't be? Could it?

"You are stronger than that." She looked up and it was him, it was him.

She gasped, "Solas?" She stood up only to see him step back from her slightly. She extended her arm towards him, her emotions plainly written across her face. She was hurt.

"Solas?" Her voiced cracked as she said his name.

She stepped forward and he stepped backward, like it was some sort of sick dance.

He stood before her for a moment before responding, "You deserved better.."

She reached forward again to touch his hand and for the first time she saw him look afraid. He pulled his arm away as if the mere touch of his skin would burn her. Her eyes filled with tears and she choked back a sob.

"Solas I don't know what to do." No response.

"Solas I'm scared…." She could see his face crumple and she knew that she had hit a nerve. He lowered his head and they stood like that for a moment. Lavellan trying to keep it together to no avail and him, with his head laid low, trying to deal with his emotions.

He looked at her.

"You should be."

"Solas?" she tried to him reach him but he was fading to fast.

He opened his mouth as if to say something before turning away.

"I'm sorry.."

"SOLAS!"

And with those last words he was gone and she woke up.

She hunched over in her bed, her body wracking with sobs. And as she heard Dorian and Cassandra barging through her door, shouting if she was alright, she knew she couldn't deny it any longer. She was broken.

And as Dorian rushed to her side, she finally admitted what she had been thinking for so long.

"I miss you…"

I do not own Dragon Age or any of its characters. Sorry that this one is so sad, I'm a sucker for angst, I can't help it lol.
