*Hi everyone!*
Disclaimer- I don't own any Everwood characters or any of the brands I mention (lol I don't know if I could get sued for that or anything). And the quote belongs to a Taking Back Sunday song, "Ghost Man on Third."
*Let's pretend for my story that Tommy has never met Ephram and Madison has never met Amy. And by the way, I haven't seen any of season two so if I portrayed their relationships totally wrong, sorry. Blame my creativity ~winks~ By the way, words in italics are thoughts *
"It's times like these where silence means everything. And no one is to know about this."
He was obviously at the climax of the story. His wild hand gestures and arched eyebrows told a tale of their own. Madison tilted her head back and laughed, the door closing behind them. Ephram led her to a red padded booth in the corner. The diner was relatively empty.
"And then, you'll never believe what happened, Amy!" Tommy eagerly waited for a response.
"What happened?" She almost wanted Tommy to detect the pure boredom in her voice. He didn't, of course. He instead continued a story of his past, for the hundredth time. Amy cradled her face in her hands, hair covering her eyes.
"Hey, do you wanna go the a club with me and a few friends tonight? It'll be a blast, I promise." Madison fingered her blonde locks and smiled at Ephram.
"Yeah, that sounds great, except one of us is 16."
"Right, sorry, I forget these things." She scooted over to Ephram with ease and kissed him swiftly on the cheek. "You know what? I'm craving something chocolaty.."
"A Snickers?"
"Would you?"
"Sure." Ephram grabbed his leather wallet from the table and slid out of the booth.
"Tommy, I'm going to get a soda," she interrupted. Amy tried to wait until he took a break from talking, but she would have been there all night.
"Babe, can you get me a Coke?" She hated when he called her 'babe'. Unlike when Ephram called her 'Grover', which she loved.
"Yeah, I'll be back in a few."
The vending machine was right outside the diner. The night was dark and the cold air was enough to make anyone shiver.
Ephram fumbled with his wallet, unable to find change. Amy walked out of the diner. She ran to Ephram, kissing him with passion. He reciprocated, gladly it seemed. The moment was perfect.
"Dude! Would you buy something already?" Ephram whipped around, and was face to face with an impatient-looking man, sneering at Ephram.
"Yeah, sorry, why don't you just go ahead of me?" Ephram apologized. Amy still stood in front of the diner, but that's as far as she had gone. That was a damn good dream. Amy slowly made her way to behind where Ephram was standing. The impatient man quickly made a purchase and left.
Ephram jammed a quarter in the money slot. .25 glowed on the machine. He searched for another, but dropped a nickel instead. Amy picked it up. Ephram held out his hand and she released it. No touching involved. He felt as though he should smile; they were friends. This is no time to smile! The love of my life is in front of me. My girlfriend is 50 feet away. They stood in silence.
"I changed my mind babe, I want a Pepsi." Tommy emerged from the diner and rested his hand on Amy's shoulder, staring at Ephram.
"Yeah, uh, thanks for, you know, picking up my, uh, nickel." Ephram hurried back inside, hands shoved deep in the pockets of his jeans.
"It was out of Snickers?"
"Yeah, sold out."
