Christmas Day Chapter 1

Kagome stood still, not knowing what to do. I mean, what was she suppose to do, say she was sorry for expressing her feelings? It had only been five minutes and she had already felt guilty. Thousands of questions rolled around her head, " Is he angry?" "Does he feel the same way?" "Will he every talk to me?" but the scariest thought was, " Does he still want to be my friend?' Kagome decided to look up and see his face, and at least tell him the rest. But she couldn't put herself up to it. This is silly, she thought. I've known him for years, why should I feel embarrassed or even shy? If I told him part of it and the least I could do is tell him the rest. Kagome kept telling herself the reasons why she shouldn't be shy, embarrassed, or even guilty. "Look.. I understand how you feel," he replied, but he still didn't look up. His eyes were red and his voice was shaking and that's when Kagome knew that he didn't feel the same way. Kagome looked up and somehow, someway, she began to feel tears rolling down her eyes. And soon after she saw her elegant dress get ruined by her salty water drops, she looked over at his lap. There were also tears, but instead of having just a few, like she had, there were plenty, and they began to form a small puddle. "I..I know you .." Kagome shivered. She couldn't handle what she was going to say next, "don't feel the same way.." the tears were coming down faster and she was beginning to cry. Her heart began to hurt and all she wanted for him to do was to leave. She couldn't bare the thought of him watching her cry. I mean, what could she say, she had just blurted out her feelings and now she finally figures out that he doesn't feel the same way. Her situation was beginning to seem like a sitcom or even a talk show and that was not how Kagome wanted or even thought it would turn out to be. Kagome had imagined her sitting on the floor, and saying, " Inuyasha. I . I loov..e you," and then she would look at the ground and wait for him the pull her head up by the chin and say, "I feel the same way." But of course, that's not how things went. It was a bright day, and Inuyasha had just been talking to Kagome over the phone about him coming over. Kagome thought that would be the perfect chance for her to tell him her feelings. So of course she said yes. But things started to go wrong once he entered her house. It had just begun to rain and Inuyasha had been unprepared. He walked into her house drenched and seemed pretty angry. But since Kagome was a very curious person, she had asked what was the matter. He had told her that it was just cause of a little problem but she couldn't understand how he could be so calm over one "little" problem. As a matter of fact, she would be angry, sad, or even upset if she found out that her parents were thinking of getting a divorce. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure that they'll get back together, but just to change the subject..." she said, trying to make things better for him. She look one-way and then to another, she didn't know what to say, actually she did, but what was she suppose to do? She could never say, "Hey, Inuyasha, I have a crush one you. In fact, I've had it ever since we met!" And that's how everything got started: the silence, the tears, and even the guilt.
