A/N: And here's a tribute to the fourth of July, although it's now the fifth of July. We were doing fireworks and that made me think of this. I guess that this is either before Last Call Casualty or they're two seperate worlds. I'm leaning more towards the latter.
Sarah smiled as she felt Jack's presence behind her. Her smile quickly turned to a frown when Jack put the blindfold on her and tied it in the back, successfully blocking off her vision. She tried to pull it off but he moved her hands away every time, "Jack, what are you doing?"
She could almost see the smirk as if her vision was clear as she heard his voice, "I'm gonna take you somewhere real special for the fourth of July. I'm sure you'll love it."
Sarah was going to complain, but Jack's soothing words made her stop. She let him lead her out of her house and down the streets, her sense of direction skewed by the blindfold. Right, left, left, right, left, right, right...after a while, her mind wandered onto other things. She let her feet go one in front of the other, showing her complete trust in Jack. When she stopped daydreaming, she realized they were now inside a building. After many stairs and going through a door, Jack finally took the blindfold off. Sarah blinked as she looked around, "Jack, we're on the roof of your lodging house at night, which is not something new. I thought you said this was going to be special."
Jack smiled as he pulled her towards the edge of the building and looked at his watch, "Come on, Sarah, this will be special. Just wait and see. I know that you'll enjoy this."
Sarah's newest complaint was cut short as flashes of lights surrounded them on all sides. Fireworks! She looked at Jack in amazement, "How did you know that you could see all of the fireworks fired off around Manhattan from the roof of this building?"
Jack grinned, "I've lived here for quite a while, Sarah...I come up here to watch the fireworks every year. Of course I know that. But, that's not the point. The point is that now I have someone to share them with."
Sarah put her hand on her chest, "Aww...that's so sweet, Jack. Thank you."
With that said, they moved closer to each other and kissed. As they kissed, fireworks went off above them. These fireworks managed to go into the shape of a heart, which they were too busy to notice.
