Linken gazed out the window of his Twoleg home. He could not sleep, as his dreams were filled with thoughts of the outdoors. His owners had left for work, and the little one off to the learning place.
The little one! How he hated him! Feeding him slop and making him sleep on his hot, stuffy bed!
He spat in resent. If only he lived outside! He could live with those big cats that pass his window everyday!
He growled, his white glossy fur vibrating. "If only! If only I could get outside before..those...those idiots come back! Then...I can be free."
He glanced out the window again. Maybe...Just maybe he could get out. If he put his mind to it...
His mind. Maybe if the humans had not surpressed it!
"I must not over-react. If I am to get out of here, I must be rational." He meowed, his eyes darting around the room. They had locked him into a small room, the only way out were the Clear-gates.
The clear-gates! Even the big human could not open them easily. What if he broke them? Can they be broken? Yes, he thought. They are very thin, and he had seen them being broken on the human's picture box.
He looked for something to break them with. He saw a pointed thing that they had used to secure pictures to the wall. He picked it up in his teeth and jumped up to the clear-gate.
Resting the sharp thing on a pane, he backed up. In one swift motion, he rammed the sharp thing into the clear-gate.
SHRAACK
Sharp things flew everywhere, one making a long cut on his shoulder.
"Shhaa!" He hissed, picking out the piece. Linken looked outside. He had done it!
Backing up, Linken thought about what was about to happen.
He forgot to aim well. He catapulted through the hole, but went straight down. His leg got stuck in narrow opening.
SNAP
"SHAA!"
THUMP!
