Odysseus's Demise
A/N: haha ok, so this was written by me and a friend. She's the evil villain here. This was done for a school proj. and apparently our teacher really liked it although we did get one point off for some reason. _

Odysseus gazed out of his bedroom window. A few hours ago, Telemachus had disappeared without a trace. Odysseus and Penelope had searched the entire kingdom for their son but to no avail. No one had seen Telemachus or anything out of the ordinary. In the beginning, Odysseus and Penelope had not worried. When Telemachus did not return in time for dinner, a cloud of worry settled upon their brows.
Tears obscured Odysseus's vision as he continued to gaze out of the window. Suddenly, there was a sickening crack. An orc arrow had shattered the window with a note attached to its iron head. The arrow now laid on the ground, glistening softly in the dim firelight.
As Odysseus reached towards the note, he saw a reddish liquid oozing out from the folded parchment. Trembling with fear and anticipation, Odysseus slowly unfolded the note as the liquid, which he identified as blood, stained his fingers. His eyes hardened as he read the shining letters written in blood-Telemachus's blood, obviously.
"My Lord Odysseus-
I have your son. If you want him back alive, you must meet this one requirement:
Come to me in my cave in Hel.
-Lyn"
Scowling, Odysseus crumpled the note in his hand and called for his most trusted General, Halo.
"General Halo, I want you to prepare my fastest ship and strongest men." Odysseus barked out.
"As you wish, my Lord. Might I inquire as to why you ask for these items?" General Halo asked respectfully.
"To go to Hel and find my son! Oh, and to kill this one person-Lyn." Odysseus said, a fire flashing in his eyes.
A month later, Odysseus landed his raft on Hel, the only passenger being himself. Throughout the long month, Poseidon had attacked him repeatedly. Storms, hurricanes, tsunamis, anything had bombarded him and his ship. Only with the help of gray-eyed Athena did he make it to Hel. Now, Odysseus stood outside the dark and menacing cave as the hunt and night goddess Artemis rode in her chariot, led by a team of magnificent horses, across the sky, bringing night to the world. Unsheathing his mighty sword, Peruvias, Odysseus walked into the dark cave.
As he walked down the long winding corridors, ahead of him, torches burned to life as if commanded by witchcraft. Gazing suspiciously into a room, he saw what appeared to be a torture chamber. With dread, he noticed fresh blood upon the walls, not yet dry.
Dimly, he heard pitiful groans deep with a locked chamber. Hurrying forward, Odysseus unknowingly passed by a shadowed figure whose eyes glowed briefly red in the palpable darkness. Approaching he door, he attempted to undo the lock but was stopped by a hand of rotting flesh upon his shoulder. The putrid stench of a live corpse filled his nostrils causing him to choke. Turning around, Odysseus met face to face with none other than Lyn, judging by her nametag.
"Hail Odysseus, son of Laertes. Welcome to Lyn's Hell." As Odysseus gazed into the malevolent unblinking eyes, his mouth stretched open as if to scream but not a sound escaped. He fell dead to the ground, his visage a mask of unbridled terror. Cold laughter filled the room, mingled with the screams of terror and dread from a broken man who Odysseus had come to save.
