Three Drabbles
by KC

Disclaimer: I don't own the Ninja Turtles or Usagi Yojimbo and co.

Other Info: On my livejournal, I did an alphabet drabble meme, which involved my readers giving me a prompt for each letter of the alphabet, for which I would write a drabble in return. These are the three I wrote in the TMNT fandom. The prompt and character or pairing are listed at the top of each. (And despite it's title, the third drabble is only rated PG-13.)

F - flay, Leo/Karai

Around them, his brothers continued the fight against the remnants of the Foot clan, but the battle would be decided here in the midst of the confusion. He looked past the edge of his raised sword at Karai, her own sword held in a tight grip. Her eyes held broken promises and betrayed trust, and her hands held death, but who that death belonged to was not yet decided. The waiting game began, each second tearing another strip of his heart away, as they waited for the other to make the first move.

K - kvetch, Splinter

A ninja master, well versed in the ways of meditation and patience, still had his limits. That did not surprise him. What did surprise him was how quickly his sons found those limits and crossed them, not tentatively or fearfully, but at full gallop. Michelangelo as usual started things rolling with a food fight with Raphael, shirking his practice and ignoring his chores for video games. Donatello performed his chores but then immediately disappeared to his workroom, which would not have been so bad if he hadn't started some noisy project that irregularly chirped and clanged so loud that it sent echoes through the lair. Raphael's constant muttering about being grounded was no surprise, but then his usually exemplary student Leonardo took the bait and the two were now dangerously close to blows. Splinter sighed and stood up, one hand against his forehead and he walked towards the door.

Somehow all of his sons felt his movement. The lair quieted a little as Michelangelo looked over his shoulder, as Donatello poked his head from his lab, and as his two fighting sons paused and glanced sideways at him, intent on finishing their argument but willing to pause if it meant forestalling a lecture. They all met each other's eyes for a moment. And then with a great sense of relief, Splinter slammed the door.

O - oversexed, Leo/Usagi

Bunnies lived up to their reputation, Leonardo thought. They'd started in his bedroom, but after a week of having the lair to themselves, bits of white fur covered him and the sofa, the kitchen counter, the bridge, the practice mat, Raphael's hammock, Donatello's work bench and Splinter's zen garden. He'd rake the lines in the sand back later. Right now he just wanted to lay back and stroke Usagi's fur as the samurai drowsed on top of him, ears splayed across his shoulder, his nose twitching almost as much as his cotton tail. Usagi needed this rest more than he did, nearly driving him into the floor a few times, and he curled closer in his sleep.

Even though he knew his family would be returning tomorrow, a slow smile crept over his face. Usagi had mentioned hot springs back in his world, and he'd always wanted to lay under the stars on a bright cloudy night...
