"Jake, you smell like wet dog." I yawned, as I got up from sleeping on the Black's couch.
"Bella, I've been out in the rain, and I'm a werewolf. Put the pieces together." Jacob grinned.
"Ok, ok. What did Charlie say?" I asked him.
"He said you're in a LOT of trouble. Emphasis on lot." Jake replied.
"Hey, it's not my fault I crashed here, I was tired after the drama last night." I grimaced.
"Yea, I know." Jacob did the same.
"I still can't believe I told Edward I didn't want to be with him anymore; I still love him, but I just can't…. be with him, I mean." I said, blushing. Jake sat down next to me on the couch.
"Don't feel bad, Bella. It didn't feel right to you, and that's all that mattered." He said.
"Yes, it is." I replied.
"So, why did you tell him that?" Jake asked.
"Tell him what?" I said back.
"That you didn't want to be with him anymore?"
"Oh, well, the thing is… Jake, all this time I've spent with you, when Edward left me, made me realize: I don't want him. I want -" I started to say, when Billy came in, interrupting us.
"Bells, Charlie's on the phone. He wants you home. Now, preferably." Billy said.
"Jake, I've gotta go. I'll talk to you later, I promise." I said, running out the door. How would I tell him that I didn't want Edward, I wanted him, Jacob Black?
