"SHANNON!" Sayid screamed. Picking himself off the ground, he ran forwards. But then he heard it. The cold, sharp sound of a bullet being fired, rippling through the jungle. Sayid stopped, fear corsing through his body, like hot iron wires. He couldn't think straight. No, no this couldn't be happening. Shannon appeared from the jungle in front of him, shaking all over.

"Shannon, Shannon." Sayid repeated, wrapping his arms around her.

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"She missed." Shannon whispered, her voice cracking. The most powerful wave of relief rushed through Sayid's body, that for a moment he thought he may have passed out. Then the second piece of information registered.

"She?" he asked.

Shannon pointed a shaking finger at 6 people emerging from the jungle, blurry in the heavy rain. Sayid saw Michael, Jin and was that Sawyer laying unconscious? He frowned. There were others. A tall blonde woman, an older man, and a tall African- looking man. They all looked a little worse for wear, their clothes worn, tatty and ripping. In front of them stood a woman. Only one small piece of her dark hair hung on her face, and her expression was one of mixed guilt and confusion. The gun in her hands was still pointed out in front of her.

The rain stopped and Sayid made to stand up, angry and confused. Shannon grabbed his arm, and Michael spoke, breaking the silence.

"Its ok man. They were on the plane too. The tail-section."

"Wheres Walt?" Sayid looked at Michael.

Michael started to answer, "He uh- they- "

"The Others took him." the woman's voice was cold.

"What?"said Sayid.

"But I just saw- " Shannon started, but Sayid silenced her, motioning to Michael.

The blonde woman spoke.

"I'm Libby. This is Bernard, Eko, and Ana Lucia."

The expression on Ana Lucia's face changed, quite quickly, as Eko grabbed Sawyer, and slung him on his back.

"What happened to him?" asked Shannon.

"The Others shot him, when they took Walt." Michael answered. The group exchanged looks.

"Ana, we came all this way – can we go to the camp now?" asked Bernard. Ana didn't reply, just started walking, following Eko through the jungle, her gun in the back of her jeans. Libby, Bernard, Michael and Jin also followed. Sayid looked at Shannon, squeezed her hand and they made their way through the wet jungle.
