Of The Star elves
Eyes brighter then the stars themselves stare out a window that overlooked the beautiful land of Valinor, in the direction of Arda. Oh how she wished for a people to call her own. Sure, she loved the elves best but they were missing something in her eyes.
A sigh, softer then the softest wind passed those lips as her shoulders drooped. Maybe Manwe would let her have at least one, one to call her own.
From the doorway, a man watched the lovely woman at the window. He smiled softly, his head tilting to the side. How beautiful was his Varda, he loved simply watching her. As he continued to watch the vestige of the woman, his expression changed to that of worry. Something was wrong. She seemed upset about something. Walking over toward her, his long robes swishing around behind him. "Varda? Love, is something wrong?"
With a light jump, Varda looked up at her darling husband, giving a little smile. She was so utterly beautiful, more beautiful then the human tongue could describe. "Oh. Nothing. Just thinking to myself."
Manwe walked up behind her, looping his arms around her waist and rested his head against the nape of her neck. "What about, milove?"
"About the elves." Came the silken reply, her eyes flicking out the window again.
Manwe chuckled softly, kissing her temple gently, his kiss like the soft fluttering of a dove's wing. "Oh? Are they getting into trouble again?"
Varda chuckled faintly, shaking her head lightly. "No. I was just thinking about..." She paused, lightly chewing on her bottom lip.
"Yes?" Manwe inquired, his cheek nuzzling into her neck.
"I want a race of elves to call my own." The Star Queen stated, before adding hesitantly. "I mean, it's not that I don't like the others, it's just..."
"Just what?" He asked, reaching up with one hand to gently caress her cheek. "Tell me."
"They seem to be missing something. To me anyways." She added, before going quiet, her head lowering so that her long bluish silver hair fell into her face.
"Well, you know. I'd have to consult it with Eru." Manwe said softly, still holding her slender frame to his own.
"If I could only have one. Just one would be enough." Varda said, her eyes widening as she looked upon her husband. "So I could raise it from a child on my own. Please."
"We'll see, my lovely." Manwe said. Smiling kindly, before kissing her on the lips gently. "I'll go and take it up with Iluvetar now." He stood up, before heading out the door.
Varda let out a sigh, her eyes turning back to face the window. She prayed Eru would find favor on her request. So long she wanted a child of her own. Ever since she saw that family of elves playing happily in the starlight.
Only time would tell if she got her wish.
