Preface

Hundreds of years ago, in the country of Amestris, there lived the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse. They quested for a mythical catalyst called the Philosopher's Stone. In their journey to find the Stone, they made some interesting friends, and slew or banished the first homunculi, and their creator, "Father." Using the Philosopher's Stone, they restored their bodies that had been taken from them when they attempted to use forbidden alchemy to revive their lost mother.

But it is not their story that I tell of. Years after this all came to pass, a rebellion ensued between the corrupted politicians and the few just rulers. The Dissenters finally created two homunculi in an attempt to bring down the Just. Homunculi are humans, created using Philosopher's Stones as a core. These homunculi were too willful, however, and simply left their creators to be free of their tiresome work. But unbeknownst to the first homunculi, another was created…one with terrible power over the human will. It was so saddened by its terrible power, that it forced its creators to erase its memory, seal her away from humanity, then kill themselves.

It is not known who actually won this sad and bitter war, but the tale remains to scare small children at night, and even the naughty who wander far from home during the day. But what if this sad trail were true? Even the grown men would shake at this. A homunculus, who looks as human as you or I, could be standing next to you as we speak. All three are potentially fearsome and dangerous to all.

It is this story that I come to tell, the story of the three surviving homunculi, and of a young man bent on reviving his family…and in killing the ones who took them from him.
