"Why must it always come back to this…"
Rain pounded her already stained face.
"Why must we always come back to this!"
She gritted her teeth. Angry tears threatening to fall.
"Why does it always come back to this!"
She screamed. Tears falling down her dirt stained cheeks in angry clusters, breaking all fortifications to be free.
"Why do you always… why do you always push us away?! Like we're nothing! Like we never meant anything to you! Like we're only dust to you! Nuisances who can be swept away!"
She gripped the bloody dagger.
"Why is it, that each time we take you back, you always leave again?! Why do you insist of stabbing us in the back when it's so clearly obvious that we care for you!?"
She took a step forward, knuckles white.
"Why must you… always kill me inside..?"
She brought her hand to her chest, clutching the fabric that lay just above her heart.
"Why must you always… hurt me? Give me so much hope… and then throw it all away…"
Her tears now calmly slipping down her face as she took another step.
"Why can't you come back? What reason do you have?!"
Her ocean eyes brimming with anger… sadness…
"I… I've waited… long years. For you to realize… for you to open your eyes…"
She looked up at the figure she was approaching, anger taking hold of her sadness.
"Why?"
The tears began once more, flowing down her cheeks as she took several strides towards him.
"How much I care..."
She finally stood in front of him. Short black strands of hair sticking to her face where her tears were barely evident in the downpour of rain.
"I told myself that you could leave… that you could go… just as long as you knew… as long as you realized… that in this world of millions of souls, there was one who was willing to let you go."
Her eyes found his.
"One who was willing to let her world burn…"
Slowly the dagger fell from her hand.
"But it seems as if even I have been lying to myself."
She frowned.
"Because I refuse to let you go."
Her stubborn eyes met his once more, holding his gaze.
"Because, I love you, Loki Lafeyson."
