Yasashii Yoake - A Gentle Dawn

The beautiful austrian mountains were a sight to see at sunrise. It was that moment of twilight, the sun just hitting the tops of the mountains, but still leaving the flat bottomed valley in the darkness of night. It turned the January snow pink and purple, and the sparse clouds orange, as if to announce the dawning of a new day. The moon was present still in the glowing sky, but it was a mere pale shadow of its former being, halfway to new. its pale colour was a stark contrast to the bright colours of the sunrise. A solitary couple sat amongst the snow on the high peak, visible by the shadows cast in the morning light. a bird, the first creature to be seen that day, flapped its wings and soared, creating an impressive picture, with its backdrop of multi-coloured mountains. She observed, from her place on the mountain top, and marveled at its freedom. A freedom the human race could never have...Where are you going?

Next to her, he sat, but his mind was far away, dreaming, longing for that freedom. he hung on to the last threads of the twilight, but all things must end, as is the way of the world. Time passes, and things change, life appears... life disappears. Never standing still. Where am I going?

A similar emotion was apparant in both their eyes, it was the same in their hearts, as they gazed at the morning sky, and the fading stars. Love's heaviness, their hearts crying for a freedom they could never have. Their minds were remined of the night, as the bird drew their attention to the dying moon. That dawn marked a beginning of love that would not end. A beginning of a darkness that will not end....
