"Have you seen him smile at all this week?" Inquired Castle gesturing at Esposito. The Hispanic detective sat his desk staring out the window his paper work all finished and filed as it had been for the last hour, all of it in Esposito's neatest scrawl as he tried to make the work last longer. Beckett looked up from her own paperwork and cast her gaze no the forlorn detective across the room.

"Not once - its like his will to live has vanished, he doesn't seem to enjoy anything at the moment. I mean he didn't even crack grin yesterday after the wrestlers." Her voice trailing off at the memory of Karpowski's team attempts to split up a fight between to suspects in the middle of the bull pen, both of whom happened to be amateur wrestlers as well as - What did Castle refer to them as? Right, vertically challenged.

Huffing a laugh Castle returned his own gaze to Esposito. "There has to be something we can do? I don't know about you but I can't bare to see him like this I invited him over for Halo on the big screen last night, he turned down the offer. "We set up a Skype meet, its perfect they can see each other and talk with out really going anywhere near a face to face meeting". Beckett shot him the a glare clearly conveying a loud 'No'. Castle withered a little under the weight of her gaze. "A phone call" he suggested slowly timidly. Her eyes kept their steely appearance "Email, a letter, carrier pigeon, morse code, smoke signals,". Her gaze never faltered for a second.

"We can't Castle you know that, Espo will just have to work through it, we can offer our help but unless he starts accepting these offers there is nothing we can do. We all just have to sit tight and wait, the honeymoon ends 8 days then Ryan'll be back and all will be back to status quo". She turned back to her paperwork signalling the end of the discussion. Castle however was not so easily deterred.
