I do not own TORCHWOOD or DOCTOR WHO: I love them!!

This is something I just felt I needed to write.

He stood in the desert waiting his hands deep in his pockets. Wouldn't be long before he turned up. A 50's phone box a 50s police phone box it might not seem special but it was the person inside who he was waiting for.

The sound it made was so beautiful like a piece of ancient music announcing the arrival. The sound was implanted deep in his mind and all he had to do was wait.

He knew he was coming he could feel it in his gut, his hair rose on the back of his neck as he heard the ancient music; the soft breeze blew back his jacket. The door opened as a tall skinny man in a pin striped suit, tie and long jacket appeared. "Now you must be the reason why the TARDIS was so persistent to come here."

The two men looked at each other. "Yeah well I was pretty desperate to meet you Doctor."

The Doctor grinned slightly but it disappeared once he saw the sadness in the other man's face. "I saw the list of the dead after the 456 attack. I am sorry Ianto Jones."

Ianto half- heartedly shrugged before clearing his throat. "I've been here hoping you can send a message to Jack if you ever see him." The Doctor sat down on a rock; he looked around the desert wasteland which held no form of life. "Not many people can stay here without moving on." Ianto sat next to the Doctor. "I've got some unfinished business so I refused to move on until I meet you."

They sat in silence. "H-How is Jack?"

Just saying the name made his throat close up, he could still hear Jack's pleads of him to stay and not to leave him. Fingers caressing his face when he looked into the tear stained face of his lover the weight lifted when he said. "I love you." It broke his heart when the hurt pinched as if the words broke Jack's heart.

"I don't know last I heard he's been travelling all over after..." he broke off as Ianto nodded. "He's in a state lost his home, grandson, daughter and lover. He said the last time he was with me and Martha how he couldn't wait to get back to TORCHWOOD. Did he ever tell you what happened when he was away?" Ianto shook his head silently. "Man keeps way too many secrets, but the world ended I bet you hate hearing that phrase."

"I've heard it about five times or so." The Welsh accent thick as the Doctor continued. "He was imprisoned for a year and it sort of gave him a prospective in life. Well lives for him since he can't die-"

"A fixed point in time, he'll keep going while everyone else dies around him." The Doctor nodded while rubbing Ianto's back underneath his hand he felt the body shaking. "You haven't got much time," Ianto stood while staring off in the distance as the sand storm erupted. The Doctor ran towards the TARDIS. "Come with me you can see Jack." The sand spun around Ianto who smiled. "No I can't Doctor. Tell Jack... Thank you for giving me meaning and tell him to stop blaming himself and running."
