Remembrance

She stands.

Alone.

In the doorway of his study, that had been up till this day full of noise and life.

Her mouth plays upon a melancholy smile and her soft eyes regard the room with the signs of an ending.

She gently drops her hands and lets them run over his desk.

Tracing the memories.

A laugh, a simple smile, a shout can be heard in the back of her mind as she replays his life.

Her fingers brush against a pen.

Old and forgotten.

That lies underneath a pile of discarded papers.

She holds it awhile and smiles at the thought of his fingers against hers.

For only ever a brief moment.

---

A young boys stands in the doorway now.

He waits, patiently, for the lady to notice him.

He too has sad eyes.

The lady turns to see him and takes his hand.

For a moment they stand there, united.

Then she leads the sad eyed boy away, to a better life.

The past is left behind, but not forgotten.

---

The shadow of a man stands in his study doorway.

He is the memories.

Words unsaid echo about his very soul.

Regret and remembrance.

He suveys to two figure as they walk away from his study.

The dark haired lady glances back.

For a brief second she sees him.

The small boy turns and the man is gone.

The sad eyed woman and the lost boy continue on without him.

But he will never be forgotten.

For he is imprinted on both their hearts.
