"Excuse me everyone," Rocky was standing on the bench in the school hallway as a smug look came on her face as she continued to speak. This was taking her bad-girl wanna-be attitude way too far.
"What are doing," I whispered to her. She just ignored me and faced the crowd.
"My friend, Cece here has a little secret that I would like to share with you." She continued, hopping down from one bench to continue to another, making sure everyone's attention was on her. Of course, it was.
My eyes widen. She wouldn't. She couldn't.
"She has dyslexia. Yup, that's right people. She's can't read—she's stupid as it gets."
Rocky's face twisted in a proud and horrible sneer as she pointed my way.
Oh no.
It all happened so fast. The words flowed as if it was said everyday. Like a casusal confession breezed out all the time. I can't believe I trust her with that.
My life was offically ruined.
I closed my eyes begging for the tears not to flow as realization came upon Rocky's face. My cheeks were red as I tried fatally to hide behind my hair; it didn't work. "Cece I—"
I didn't stick around to find out what else was said as I ran out of the crowded hallway.
Deuce's Pov
I was shocked and angry. No, I was more than that; I was furious. I was shocked that Cece has dyslexia and angry that Rocky would just blurt it out. Those two feelings are never a good combination.
"Hey!" I stormed up to Rocky with hands in fists.
"Oh, hey Deuce."
"How could you do that to her! She trusted you to keep that a secret and then you just blurt it out to the whole school! I thought you were better than that but I guess not."
Her face was priceless but I didn't care right now.
I darted out of the building and started to run.
Running was never one of my strongest tactics, especially with all my merch and headphone, but I couldn't care less if they did fall out and scatter to the ground.
I walked closer and saw a tiny shaky frame perched on the steps, sobbing.
"Cece?"
She looked up at me with red, puffy eyes. "Here to tell me I'm to stupid to your friend?"
I gave her a shocked look before pulling her to my chest, kissing her hair. "I would never think that you are stupid. You are beautiful and have your own creative way of seeing things." She looked up at me, thinking about what I just said.
"You can't really mean that, can you?"
I gave her a look of mixed emotions: anger and sadness.
I pulled her head toward mine, smashing our lips together, hard. She was hesitant at first but kissed back. My hands tangled into her wild, fiery hair as I pulled her closer. Our teeth bumped.
We both unravel ourselves when the for air was too strong.
"Believe me now?" I whispered. Cece nodded. We sat on the steps like that for seemed like forever, enjoying our own little world.
Okay, so maybe she wasn't the smartest, and maybe she did have dyslexia, but that didn't make her any less perfect.
