Waiting for Harry

As soon as he arrived at the house and put his things back in the room, he opened up the trunk and took out a large leather-bound book and a muggle notebook and pen.
If it was ever found, no one would expect him to be the owner. Certainly he would use parchment and quills for everything.
Hermione and Ron had offered to come with him to number four, but he insisted they spend some time with their families. He promised to not leave without them, giving them his Firebolt as assurance. He would have given his wand, but that seemed a bit to risky.

Being at the Dursleys didn't mean he couldn't do research on the horcruxes.
He opened the book and started reading.

His theory was if anyone had objects belonging to the founders, it would be the founders' heirs. After all, Hufflepuff's cup was with Hufflepuff's relative, and Slytherin's locket was stolen by Slytherin's heir.
Even if Ravenclaw and Gryffindor didn't have heirs, there could at least be someone obsessed with them or claiming to be an heir that had a trinket.

Or had once had a trinket before mysteriously dieing.

So here he was, The Boy Who Lived. The Boy Who Went Crazy. The Boy Who Is the Chosen One.

The Boy Who Read Books on the First Day of Summer Holiday.

But not just any book. A biography of Godric Gryffindor.
What else would he start with? His IS a Gryffindor, and their Quidditch captain at that. Their founder had to come first.

--- ----- ----- ----- ---

When she and Arthur had gotten married, they had naturally talked about having kids. At first, three seemed like a good number. Then the death toll rose and they figured four wouldn't hurt. Five came with four and then, Why not more.
They never realized they'd end up with a family of 11.
Make that twelve.

But eleven not counting the almost-daughter-in-law.

How could she not count Harry and Hermione as children? They were always over during the holidays anyway. But for now neither was there was a hole in her heart just like when Bill and Charlie were away working.
When Fred and George were at their shop. When Ron and Ginny were at school. When Percy was...

But in two weeks they'd be back, Ron informed her, and her home would be that much warmer.
