One day I came across something wonderful
A machine that was far beyond beautiful
Without a thought I entered and went
To any place I would hope to be sent
At first I visited a magical place
Full of a scarred battousai's grace
I chased Himura Kenshin's lithe hand
But when I went to glomp, he ran
And so I traveled some years farther
To a sandy planet far down yonder
And gave my heart to a young debonaire
Who despite his looks could only stare
He looked so hot in red jacket and glasses
That I felt my heart melt into molasses
But he traded me for near two pounds
Of donughts at a shop in town
I went again to my new found invention
In order that I could get attention
And years backwards to Japan I went
Where I found a man whose heart was bent
On not my love, but two others
Two incarnations of almost-lovers
His Tetsuaiga was grand, but 'feh' he said
To the love and the valentine's card of red
With broken heart, I traveled longer
Where there was a man that was stronger
Then the brick walls he tended to smash
And he into a large red one he did bash
When I told the failed detective
His love was my greatest elective
Against the odds I did continue
A high school was my next venue
I should have known he had another
Who he could kiss and smother
Miyazawa's charms were far greater
Then their relationship's perpetrator
And with a sob I came to find
No anime bishonen would be mine
Unless he was a perv or jerk
No matter how long I may lerk
In anime-land there is no way
For me to find a guy today
But perhaps I will try again
When my heart has time to mend
