I'm sorry that you'll never know me.

I'm sorry that you'll never know your mother.

I put my trust in others

That they might tell you what we were like.

I put my trust in our friends

That they might instill in you the virtues,

The responsibility, the pride and kindness

That I tried to live my life by.

I died fighting for what was right,

Against that evil power that seeks to

Divide, destroy and desecrate

All that we fools who love hold dear.

Your mother died to defend what she loved.

She loved me even though I was a monster,

An outcast for all of my life.

For that, I honour her.

She showed me what love could feel like.

We have hopefully made a better, safer world

For you, for everyone.

We love you so much.

You'll never know how sorry we are

That we won't see you grow into a son

Of whom we will always be proud.
