Forever
He opened up the rickety gate, her black flower headband held loosely in his grip. He meandered through the cemetery towards her final resting place, stopping in front of the stone that marked her grave. He felt a passing sense of thankfulness at coming alone. He read the words in-scripted on her headstone, blue eyes filling with tears; "A beautiful girl with a thirst for knowledge and incomparable bravery."
He knelt down into the snow, his flaming red hair falling into his eyes, and placed the headband on top of the many wilted white carnations and red tulips left behind from his previous visits. 'Hello Love, having fun up there? Knowing you, you'll be reading as much as you can and keeping Fred out of trouble.' A slight smile ghosted over his lips.
His eyes glistened with unshed tears, knowing she wouldn't hear him but hoping she would. I will come to see you soon, I swear. I don't want to be alone. I can't live without you so tonight, I shall join you forever. I miss you.' Tears were running down his face as waves of nostalgia coursed through him. Life may not have been perfect back then, but it might as well have been.
'We found him, we found the horrid excuse for a human being that did this to you' He said, his voice a half growl as he remembered the Deatheater that ran away from the final battle and murdered his fiancée as revenge for his master. 'We put him in Azkaban, even though he deserved death. He won't hurt anyone else, I promise.' He said, knowing that even though she can't be brought back, she would be content knowing that nobody else would die.
He wiped away his tears on the back of his hand before he took a step away. 'I'm so sorry but I have to do this, I can't live without you.' He quietly muttered, hoping she would forgive him for what he was about to do.
He reached his hand down into his pocket and pulled out a knife, silently begging for forgiveness. 'Tell Fred that I'm coming and that I have missed him so much. I'm so sorry.' He sobbed, not letting the tears fall. He felt a soft breeze in the air, brushing over his head in a gentle caress of forgiveness, as if she had heard him and he had already forgiven.
He moved the knife so it was at an arm distance away. I'll see you soon... Hermione.' He choked her name as he felt the tears he was trying to hold beck break free again. Then, without hesitation he plunged the knife into his heart with the barest hint of a smile, knowing he'd see her soon.
...
When the aurors found the body of George Weasley, they knew he left this world for hers. Anyone who saw the war hero knew that he was slowly dying without her, anyone who saw them together knew that if one left this world the other would not be far behind. They were soul-mates, two parts of a whole, and finally, they could be together as they were always meant to be, forever.
