Lacy here. Being sick has only one advantage. Story ideas apparently pop into your head while you're trying to sleep. Or maybe that's just me. Either way! I've got another Demonology tag for ya. This episode just works in so many ways for Aaron and Emily. That is after we get passed him playing boss and her breaking the rules. Well, Dave helped her with that but you get my point. In case you couldn't tell by my annoying rambling, this is gonna be another one for them fixing things. So have fun.

Disclaimer: I own...nothing. Damn.

Emily wiped the blood from her nose onto her jacket sleeve, not really caring at the moment that she was a grown woman with tissues in her pocket and not a five year old who didn't believe in using said tissues. She tucked the picture of her, Matthew and John back in her pocket and started walking again. she considered catching a cab and going to check on John but she didn't want to go alone and the one person she would consider taking with her wasn't an option at the moment.

"Emily,"

Or maybe he was. She turned and faced her boss, the man who'd also been her boyfriend for the past five months.

"Hey," she said softly. "weren't you taking-"

"Dave offered to go instead." Aaron said, stepping forward to close the distance between them. "He figured we should talk."

Emily crossed her arms and stared at the ground. "What do we have to talk about? I stepped out of line and you did what was necessary."

Aaron sighed. "Em, I'm sorry for the way I acted but I was trying to look out for your career."

"Don't you mean yours?" Emily asked. She'd aimed for a harsher tone but she knew she didn't mean it.

Aaron shook his head. "If I had been looking out for mine, I would have told Dave no instead of placing that last call." he sighed again. "I knew you were, are, upset about Matthew and possibly weren't thinking straight so I wanted to make sure you still had the job we both love when all was said and done."

Emily sighed this time. "I'm sorry."

Aaron closed the final gap between them and took Emily's hands. "Don't be sorry. You were doing what you had to for Matthew. Had I been in your place, I would have done the same thing."

Emily laughed a bit. "You're not exactly the rule breaking type, Aaron."

Aaron gave a small smile. "Not normally, no. But for someone I care about, I'll do anything. Just like you did." he looked around. "I think we should finish this conversation somewhere that isn't slowly becoming snow covered."

Emily noticed that the snow was starting to come down harder. "Yeah, let's go home."

Forty five minutes later found the two curled up on Aaron's couch, slowly thawing out.

Aaron rubbed his hand up and down Emily's arm. "Why are you always so cold?"

Emily laughed. "I've always been this way. No matter what the temperature is outside, I get cold easily."

Aaron looked down at Emily. "So, am I forgiven?"

Emily tilted her head so she could see him. "Forgiven?"

"For not being there for you," Aaron said. "like I should have been."

Emily hugged Aaron tightly. "There's nothing to forgive, Aaron. I know why things had to go the way they did. If they hadn't, we may not have stopped the priest."

Aaron buried his nose in Emily's hair. "So we're okay?"

Emily nodded against his chest. "We're better then okay."

"I love you, Emily." Aaron said softly.

Emily smiled. It wasn't the first time he'd said it. Their relationship started with it but it still felt good to hear.

"I love you too, Aaron."
