A/N: I didn't write Harry Potter OBVIOUSLY, and nothing in Harry Potter is mine. I just wrote this little scene.

Sixth Year, Gryffindor Common Room

Harry sat in the overstuffed chair by the fire, talking to Hermione. Ron was busy telling off a bunch of third year boys who were using Extendable Ears to listen to girls on the other side of the room.

"But Hermione, asking someone out is a lot harder than it looks..."

"Harry, I'm telling you, she still likes you. She gave up on you last year, but after Micheal...and then with the Department of Mysteries..."

"I almost got her KILLED, Hermione! She can't possibly like me after that! You're saying she likes me again because of my stupidity?!"

"No, she likes you because you were brave and you protected everyone! You were cool in a situation that any other one of us would have messed up in."

"What? That's crazy, Hermione."

Hermione sighed. Harry was so thick sometimes.

"Harry, why don't you just go up to her and ask if she wants to go to the Three Broomsticks next weekend?" Hermione asked.

"Because, she doesn't like me!"

"Of course she does!"

"No, she doesn't!"

"Yes, she--"

Ginny had just sat down in front of Harry and Hermione.

"What are you two arguing about?" Ginny asked.

"Nothing," Harry replied too quickly.

"We weren't talking about nothing! If you say that, she won't want to--"

Ginny interupted, "Who won't want to do what?"

"Ginny, Harry's got something to tell you."

Harry shot Hermione a venomous look, then turned to Ginny and said, "I was going to the Three Broomsticks this weekend, and I wanted to know if you'd come."

"On a date," Hermione finished, trying not to look too pleased with herself.

"Yeah," Harry added, "on a--er--date."

"Alright then," Ginny said brightly. She turned and walked away towards Ron.

Harry looked confused, so Hermione told him, "See? She wants to go."

"But she's been acting really normal with me lately..."

"That's because you didn't seem to like her any more than a friend when she worshipped the ground you walked on."

"Right," Harry said. "Hermione?"

"Yeah?"

"You really should write a book."
