Fullmetal Alchemist
An angry woman was screaming at what seemed to be her boyfriend across the street for his 'slothful attitude' as Alana and Envy watched, criticizing them both. The two shared a look of exasperated boredom before the woman's shrieking tirade was rather abruptly cut off. Curiosity pulled the eyes of the couple back to the woman, who had previously seemed as if it would take the end of the world to silence her. The man had pressed his lips against hers, effectively shutting her up.
"I just don't get it. Why do pushing two faces together mean so much to you humans?" Envy glanced over at Lana, not even attempting to disguise the disgust lacing his tone. Lana seemed to contemplate the question carefully before she answered.
"I think it might be because a kiss is supposed to symbolize so much to us, you know? It's supposed to show compassion, trust, lust, love, and for most, truth." Envy's face clearly reflected his bemusement with her answer, and Envy, never one to hold his tongue in the best of times asked her for clarification.
"I guess it's possible to understand the rest of the points you make, but truth? What do you mean by that?" Alana quickly scrambled to answer him before she could evoke his wrath.
"Well, most people can't train their bodies to lie, so when you are pressed against another person it's more than a bit hard to hide whatever you are feeling. Therefore, truth." Lana's answer had seemed to intrigue the homunculi, as he was leaning forward at attention by the time she had finished her rather halting speech. His amethyst eyes had locked on to her stormy gems and she felt nervousness beginning to make it known to her. Unfortunately in Alana this often lead to her jump to the offensive.
"What the hell are you looking at?!" Alana never had liked the way his eyes had always seemed to see into the depths of her soul, stealing past all of her defenses, past her prideful declarations and lies.
"An annoying, loudmouth, distracting, dramatic, romantic, intriguing little human girl." He was smirking that insane smirk again. She hated that smirk…or the way it made her feel. Butterflies ran rampant.
"Really Envy? Really, that's what you see when you look at me? I'd much rather the truth to that lie now Envy." Even as the words left her lips she felt like a glutton for punishment and braced herself for the vitriol likely to spew from his mouth. But, his smirk was slowly changing, lips curving into a grin. Forget butterflies, she felt as if a flock of birds were loose in her stomach.
"Hoped you would say that." The cryptic comment was quickly cleared up as Envy leaned closer and smoothed his lips over hers. Slowly, she felt herself return the action with her body loudly broadcasting the truth to her. As her eyes slowly fluttered open to stare back into that mesmerizing amethyst she felt a grin of her own pull up her lips, before she greedily pulled him down for another kiss.
Two rooftops away Greed grinned deviously as he watched the scene before him unfold. He had happened upon them by chance but now he couldn't wait for his chance…to tell Lust and Wrath all about what he was witness to between the pure human and the evil homunculus. Envy would never hear the end of it, if he had a say in the matter. And if he had anything to do with any of them in the future neither would Alana.
