Summary: Kagome was living the life of a withdrawn, cold, and depressed teenager. Inuyasha was suddenly thrown into a relationship he had always wanted but soon came to realize was fueled by fake affection. When Inuyasha discovers Kagome, the girl hiding in the shadows, will he go after her or will he be driven back because of the deadly game she plays. A murderous game of chess and realistic pawns, will the opponent check mate or will Inuyasha win, saving Kagome, the world, and himself in the process?

Chapter One:

Depression

"Ring around the Rosie..."

"Just what is it now, do you know you're pissing me off", her voice echoed off the walls in the pale blue room.

"Who is in now, Kagome?", she looked like she was thinking about the question, trying to play ignorant, to buy time. She sighed, and finally answered, "Mistuko Takarama", her voice was final and stern, but had a distinct undertone of regret as the familiar expression shone in her dull blue eyes.

"So be it", and the eerie voice disappeared leaving it's final words bouncing off the desolate walls, and suddenly a small pawn appeared on a now apparent chess board. The game was about halfway finished, and every little game piece was carved with startling precision, each piece looking at Kagome with a solemn expression, haunting her as she looked at a miniature version of her fellow classmates. There was about ten of them there, and by just looking at them she could say their names without a second thought. She didn't chose these people randomly , she did research on them, finding out who would the world the most if they suddenly disappeared and giving them what she called her personal test, which one would add to her guilt
