A/N: this is my third story that I got (for now), I will be writing more when I have an idea, let me know if you like this story or my others! I have recently started to watch the adventures of Merlin, there great! I've had a growing idea of Merlin and Arthur and when I saw the last episode episode 5, "Lancelot" this is where the story is going to take place in that episode. :)

If I owned Merlin, I would sitting home and watch all 5 seasons since I don't have all that time!

When Merlin couldn't conjure the spell to kill the griffin, he had no motivation therefore it didn't work even after multiple times trying over and over again.

When he hear from Lancelot that Arthur was going after the beast he need to save him, he would be dead since the griffin could only be killed by magic, which he had.

As they road, Merlin kept thinking about Arthur and he really hopped that he wasn't dead already since he was going to finally tell him how he felt even after Arthur suspicion of him and Gwyn, he didn't even think of her in that way, not even a little bit.

When they arrived by the sound of a stream, Merlin thought they where too late, that Arthur and his men where dead. They ran down the hill to see multiple men covered in blood, Merlin was afraid that one of them was Arthur. He searched around as Lancelot and Merlin came across Arthur, Merlin was so happy, he had hope again.

Than the griffin appeared once more, Merlin said "this is it, I can do it" he was think he can do it for Arthur, now that his life was in danger Merlin put his whole heart into casting the spell on Lancelot's spear.

Every time he said the spell over, he looked deeper into Arthur's eyes as Arthur was staring right back into his.

Lancelot defeated the griffin with Merlin's help and the motivation that came from Arthur.

When they returned, Arthur tried to convince his father that Lancelot deserved his spot as a knight so there was no suspicion of Merlin being there or doing magic, which was illegal.

Arthur knew in his heart that Merlin saved him that day and he was in his debt even if that meant that he had to bend the rules and from there on, Arthur, knew that when he became king was going to make magic legal, for Merlin. So Merlin doesn't have to hind and even become more than a servant for Arthur.
