He lay on his bed, facing down. The quiet around him was perfect, exept for the distant screams that have kept him awake for the past week. Sasuke sighed, and turned onto his back. "Orochimaru must really hate me, giving me a room next to the lab." He closed his eyes, and tried to surpress his thoughts about what was happening behind the wall next to him. But, the piercing shrieks just got louder. Luckily, his thoughts started to wander. When he closed his eyes, he could see Itachi and himself, sitting on the porch. His words echoed in his head, "I'm the barrier you must overcome..." His eyes flashed open as he waved the memory out of his mind. "The reason I'm here, is because I want to kill him," he reminded himself, and desperately tried to fall asleep. After a while, his thoughts trailed off again. He remembered his first day on squad seven. His lips slowly pressed into a smile as he chuckled. He's been so self-confident it was impossible not to laugh at himself. Thinking of self confidence... Naruto's face jumped up in front of his eyes. "Loser..." he whispered, as his smile slowly widened. He thought about all the times he made a complete fool of himself. When he got to the flashback from the chunin exam's preliminary round, he couldn't help it, but burst into laughter. Kiba's face expression read something from "I'm gonna puke" to "Air! Air!" In the rare fit of laughter, he barely noticed the footsteps in the halway. As the door swung open, he managed to go back to his stone face expression. It was Kabuto. "He has always freaked me out," he thought to himself. "Is everything all right, Sasuke-kun," he asked, "I thought I heard something." "Well," Sasuke shot back, "Your oversuspicion is disturbing my sleep." Kabuto gave him his -I'm watching- look, as he locked the door behind him. Sasuke sighed in relief and layed back down. "Kabuto always has this weird atmosphere around him... "he thought. Maybe that's why Orochimaru keeps him around...As his eyes slowly began to close, he remembered Sakura. 'She has always been soo simple-minded..." Yet, he began to realize how much he misses her already. Even though she was a pest sometimes, it was fun having her around. "I wonder if she knew that..." he whispered... as his eyes closed.
