Back with a new story. I do not own any characters except my own OC's.

Hope you enjoy!

An alarm sounded at exactly 7:35am and was slammed shut 3 seconds after. Yet another boring day for Shibasaki Haruka who wasted no time in getting out of bed, dragging her tired body into the washroom.

Her purple eyes squinted at the brightness of the bathroom light, but she could care less about the light. A light sigh was heard before the sound of running water covered it as the girl tied up her long black hair and began to wash her face and brush her teeth.

Today's a little different. Summer vacation is, sadly, over and it's the long awaited first day of high school. Haruka opened the door to her closet and stared at her new school uniform. A pure white top accompanied by a lime green tie, which Haruka thought was extremely unfashionable, along with a white skirt with navy blue and green stripes near the bottom. Topping it with a navy blue sweater, Haruka grabbed her toast with butter spread and her school bag and left the house at exactly half an hour after her alarm sounded.

As she stepped out her front door, she hears her childhood friend and neighbour saying… more like shouting bye to his mother who sounded way more excited than both teens combined. When he finally caught sight of the black haired girl, he sighed inwardly before walking over to greet the girl.

"Yo….. Seriously, do something with that hair of yours. It's too long,"

"Morning to you too, Jun."

"I see you're as passive as ever, Haruka"

"Aww did you miss me while I was in the 'merica?"

"you-! Sigh stop teasing already you're in high school!"

"What it's been a little over a year since I last saw you and the first thing you say to me are words of criticism? I'm very hurt, Jun"

"ahh whatever, anyways….. It'll take a while to get used to the Japanese system again huh, since school starts in fall over at America."

"Did you forget I went to school here until Middle school? I'll be fine~"

"If you say so….. I'm a year older than you so we'll be on different floors, but I'll tell you my class so you can come find me if you need anything."

Haruka smiled. He's still the same as ever. He's always been like an older brother to her since they met 13 years ago. Always coping with her sarcastic and sometimes rude remarks, she's actually impressed that they remained so close after so many years. Haruka admit she actually missed him more that she sounds even though she was only in America for a year.

"hai hai, Hyuuga-sempai. I'm in debt to your kindness."

"Don't call me that you moron! In my whole life I happen to know 5 stupid idiots and you just so happen to be three of them!"

"Oh come on now Jun~ you're breaking my heart all over again~"

A moron. Hyuuga Junpei knows full well that Shibasaki Haruka is no moron. She's perhaps one of the smartest people he's ever met, but she's not one to use that brain of hers. Junpei thinks she's stupid for wasting her intelligence on stupid things like video games instead of doing well in school. Her parents are pretty well-established in the trades, and to this day he still doesn't understand why she would live in that small apartment instead of the big mansion her parents moved into last year. Why can't she just make up with them already…. even ran all the way to America to avoid them, if she isn't a moron I don't know what to call her. She came back a little different… I mean she's still as passive as ever but there's something…

"…un. Jun…. OI!"

Snapping out of his thoughts, Junpei ran up to catch up with the purple eyed girl who's already 10 steps ahead of him.

Arriving at Seirin High school, the two teens were bombarded with clubs and sports teams trying to recruit anyone and everyone that pass by.

"Join the baseball team!"

"How about the literature club?"

"Nice tan you got there! Do you like to travel? Join the travelling club!"

"You look like a soccer player!"

Haruka and Junpei can barely take a step forward without being stopped, complimented, or given a flyer.

"Seriously those clubs needs to tone it down….. They're scaring the freshman's"

"Ahh Jun save me from the harassment of these strange high schoolers~"

"Haruka stop it!"

"haha your responses are amazing as always."

"never mind that…. I have to head over to the basketball team's booth since I am the captain….. wanna come?"

Basketball huh… "Nah I'd much rather find out what class I'm in and go sit before the hallways get too crowded. You know I don't enjoy being around large crowds."

"that's cool. Text me about your class later then!"

"hai hai~ Don't be too creepy Jun~ See ya."

"O-oi! Wait… are you going to join anything?"

"…saa…."

Standing outside the classroom door of 1-B, Haruka sighed. When can something interesting happen… life is too boring….. "Maybe someone interesting will be in this class…"

She entered the classroom, seeing that there are people in there already and went to find her seat. Alphabetical order huh…. How lame… After taking a look at the seating chart on the board, she sighed, realizing she's nowhere near the window. At least it's in the back…

She walked over and sat down, then she started observing everyone else with her head resting on her right arm. Some people already know each other probably through middle school, some are trying to talk to their classmates in hopes to make a friend on the first day, while some others keep it to themselves and simply sat down in their seats. Okay Haruka….. Let's not be a loner this year.

As she was about to get up and talk to people around her, someone sat next to her on the next row who she thought looked familiar. The other girl also turned to look at her. Her eyes widened all of a sudden as she jumped over and grabbed her hands. "Omigosh! Aren't you Haruka?!"

"um….do I know you?"

"You forgot about me already? It's only been a year!"

"wha-"

"We've been classmates since forever! Hachiro Tomoka, remember?"

Hachiro….Tomoka…? Hachiro…..Hachiro….Tomoka…. Tomo….. Moka…... wait, Moka…!

"Moka-chan?!" Her usual passive face is now filled with shock.

"Gyaaa Haru-chan remembered! I can't believe you left for America without saying anything! I've missed you so much you know!"

Haruka smiled. This bubbly girl was her classmate ever since 3rd year elementary school. She wasn't close to her until middle school, but Tomoka, or Moka, was one of her closest friends before she left for America. As energetic as always… I missed her too, just a little.

"Sorry Moka, it was a spontaneous decision to go to America…. And I simply forgot to mention it."

"How mean~~ I had to survive the rest of 3rd year middle school without you, you know? But still, I can't believe we're classmates, AGAIN! It must be fate! Ahh I'm so excited for high school I can't believe I even get to sit next to you….."

As the girl rambled on, Haruka can only think about their middle school days together. Being Haruka's one of very few female friends, Tomoka knew a lot about her. They would talk about all the typical girl topics such as make-up, idols, and love… oh. Right. I never told her about THAT….. The REAL reason why I left.

"….! Anyways Haru-chan…. It's good to have you back! I look forward to another year with you!"

"Me too, Moka… me too."

First chapter, done! I'm pumped to keep writing!
