The weather is similar, but everybody seems to dress up more here. Must be the Hollywood factor. I may need to buy a tie.
Louis Provenza reminds me of Angel in another twenty years (and another couple of wives). Andy Flynn reminds me of Deb in a way. Fiercely loyal, tenacious. Low tolerance for idiocy. Protective of people he cares about. Like our boss.
My new boss is…different. Low drama, high regard for the law, lots of ethics. I get the feeling she's got a softer, loving side she keeps for those close to her. I wonder if I would have turned out differently if she had found me in that shipping container instead of Harry.
She's still calling me "Mr. Morgan," although I've told her she can call me by my first name.
Her foster son worries me. I sense he has a Dark Passenger waiting for him if the people in charge of his life don't step up. Maybe not one like mine…but still dark.
Fortunately, worry over Rusty and the comforting attentions of Lt. Flynn are distracting the captain just enough. She hasn't questioned my request to take the threatening letters through the lab again. I guess my suggestion about getting familiar with the LAPD lab workings made sense. That's what I said when she pointed out they didn't have anything to do with blood spatters.
She seemed to buy it.
I don't know everything that's going on, but these letters are suggesting her foster son is in so much danger he may need to be sent away. It doesn't exactly fit Harry's Code, but I think it's close enough. If that kid is sent away, it'll kill him and Captain Raydor emotionally.
I can work with that.
