He Didn't Mean to Fall For Her

He didn't mean to fall for her.

He didn't mean to get butterflies in his stomach whenever she looked at him.

He didn't mean to find himself staring at her.

And he sure did NOT mean to be so mean.

In fact, Draco Malfoy HAD meant to be mean and spiteful for the rest of his life.

But no. They both HAD to be picked as Head Boy and Head Girl. They both HAD to spend endless hours together. She just had to be so. darn. adorable.

And it didn't exactly help his emotions whenever he saw her and her boyfriend laughing together or something like that. The only way he could cover up his being madly in love with her was to be the cruel, mean, prat he's always been.

But Draco didn't mean the names he called her. She was exactly the opposite of what he called her. Her blood wasn't muddy. She wasn't a know-it-all. She was NOT ugly.

She haunted his dreams. She was the cause of his lack of sleep; which just put him in a bad mood.

That's why Monday morning; Draco stumbled into the Head Boy and Girl common room with a scowl on his face.

"Morning, Malfoy. What's got you in such a mood?" The familiar voice greeted him. Draco stumbled a bit and looked up at her. "What do you want?" He snapped.

She shrugged, causing her perfect brown curls to shake. "Whatever. Just trying to be civil. McGonagall says that we have to patrol tonight. All night, actually, so we can do it in our pajamas if we want. I'm bringing Red Vines, but I can't promise I'll share."

Her and her stupid obsession with that bloody muggle candy.

"Well, see you tonight." she said, spinning on her heel, adjusting her Gryffindor scarf as she went.

"Granger," Draco said, wanting nothing else but to take Hermione into his arms and apologize for being such a downright awful person. But the words caught in his throat.

"What, Malfoy? I've got to meet Ron."

Bloody boyfriend of hers.

"What time do we start?"

Hermione rolled her eyes. "I don't know, Malfoy. Just be back here after dinner, okay?" he nodded.

He hated annoying her. He hated that he would never be the one that she blew off other people for, just to see him. He hated that he had been so mean to her.

He hated that he had fallen in love with Hermione Granger.

No, Draco Malfoy didn't mean to.

Draco Malfoy didn't mean find himself staring at her.

Draco Malfoy didn't mean to get butterflies in his stomach whenever she looked at him.

Draco Malfoy didn't mean to fall for Hermione Granger.
