Despair

Was this fear? She wondered as she held the shotgun and the Dominator. Undeniably she was scared. The man that she and Kougami-san were chasing after was right in front of her eyes as he held her friend, Yuki by her hair. Shogo Makishima, the conductor behind the crimes lately. The man who she couldn't shoot to save her closest friend. Testing her free will? Her values? Bullshit. Akane's hand shook as she aimed the gun. Then fired. None of the bullets landed on Shogo Makishima, who sighed as if almost regrettably.

"How disappointing Inspector Akane Tsunemori ."

The blade rips, blood drips from flesh, and an scream echoing through out the building.

Regret. Instead of anger she felt regret. Snow covered her like a blanket. Akane looked at her hands that still trembled in shock. She felt a tap on her shoulder looking up she faced Kougami who was half naked in bandages after taking a few shots. Then she told Kougami-san of the events that took place minutes before Tomomi Masaoka had led her to the outside.

Later that week she awoke to the sound of her doorbell ring. Who is it at this hour? she thought as she checked the time. It was noon. So why wasn't she at work? After the incident, Ginoza immediately forced her to take a break. Akane remembered the nights before.

Her parents had heard the news with tears in their eyes as they found their daughter safe and sound. Obviously the MWPS didn't tell her parents anything else about the case. For a couple of days she stayed with her parents, who often checked her hue to make sure she was alright in terms of mental stability. After the tenth hue cheek, she decided it was time to go back to her apartment. Obviously Ayame and Ryu reluctantly let her go.

"I just need some time alone, mom dad." She told her parents as she got into her car and went back to the 'peaceful' city. Out of fear she built the steel walls around her heart, her very soul.

Why? Why didn't I pull the trigger? she thought grudgingly getting out of her bed. It could have ended. All the crimes, peace could have been restored. So why? Was she that weak? Was she that pitiful? Was her will truly weak? Was this a punishment? She sighed opened the door looking up. Brown met grey.

The steel walls broke as quickly as they were built. Tears broke free as she wept on the ex-Inpector's chest.

"Kougami-san..."

This idea just sudden;y sprang into my head. I know it not the nice cute shippings I would do, but I wanted to really get to the core of the series.

Anyway's sorry for ruining episode 11 if you haven't watched it yet.

Bash me all you want on the reviews.
