The weather was downcast, and the clouds were darkened. Weiss walked mechanically to her car, getting in and starting it. She looked into the mirror. Her eyes were sunken, and held no emotion. She found it suiting. For what had happened. She still didn't forgive herself.

She never forgave herself for not doing something, anything to stop her.

She drove the path she drive every one day of every month, and parked. Slowly moving out and carefully opening a gate.

Down a small rock road, she arrived at her destination.

A small plot of land adorned by little knick-knacks, and flowers.

As well as a slab of engraved stone.

Weiss sat down next to the grave.

She ran her fingers over the words, reading them aloud in her head.

"Ruby Rose

Oct/31/XXXX-Dec/6/XXXX

Sister to one. Family to all.

Loved by many. Rest in peace."

Weiss had tears on her face before she even knew it.

She remembered like it was yesterday.

Ruby was going on a solo mission.

Worried, but as Ruby always came back, Weiss trusted her when she always said;

"I'll be fine Weiss. This isn't a goodbye. I'll always come back!"

And with an exchange of kisses, hugs, and "I love you"s, Ruby was on her way.Weiss slept that night, content with her lover's safety. She had always came back. Maybe not unharmed, but she came back.

Two days later, Weiss received a call.

Two days later, Weiss dropped her scroll.

Three days later, Weiss laid in bed the whole day.

Two weeks later, there was a funeral.

Four weeks later, Weiss quit her job.

She never did come back.

And Weiss never got over that fact.

Because it's too late to say it's not a goodbye now.

No matter how much she wants to hear it.

She never will.

Not again.
