5/27/2015 Chapter 1:Revamp
"… You may now kiss the bride."
Ashton Ketchum never became a Pokemon Master. Sure, he'd many adventures and conquered innumerable challenges. But somewhere along the way, he discovered he preferred to pass his tutelage and skills with the companions and friends he'd encountered on his travels. As the thirty-year-old trainer locked eyes to the woman he'd decided to marry, he thought on how blessed he was. He stretched his palm and cupped Misty Waterflower's cheek.
"Don't cry," he smiled.
Misty Waterflower sniffed lightly, before softly punching her husband on the forehead. "Dumb idiot." She pushed forward and caught his lips with her own. The church's massive attendance hushed, before bursting into loud applause. The official wedding of Ashton and Misty Ketchum had concluded.
Camera lights fired. And journalists pushed against security trying to get a glimpse of the happy couple. An old bearded priest adorned in white clothing smiled along.
The lights flickered off. Then the church's front door exploded.
From the smoky debris, a giant robot marched through. Its flailing appendages ripped through the ceiling. Trainers who'd gathered were then flung across the aisle by its long mechanical claws. Security sprinted into action. Hundreds of Pokemon were released to defend the ceremony.
Ash and Misty couldn't help but stare into the chaos.
Then he heard a loud crack from above. Ash watched the ceiling give way, and its hanging crystal chandelier fell down. Under a heartbeat, Ash shoved his wife to the side. He caught one last glimpse of Misty's terrified expression before the ceiling crushed him.
Another Chance – Arc I
Ash's body ached. He pushed against the Nurse Joys that had begun wrapping his injuries.
"Whe-Where is she?" Ash coughed.
That's when he noticed something beside him. It lied beneath a long white blanket. With as much strength, Ash ripped away the sheet. Misty's pasty and cold body greeted him.
"No. No. No."
Ash couldn't breathe.
"Someone help her," Ash hissed. Brock had knelt beside him, and unable to speak. Ash's voice grew desperate. "Please… help. Help her! Help her!"
Pikachu had tugged on Ash's tie. He looked into her teary eyes. "Pika Pi…" Pikachu's tears collected before they dripped to the floor. "Pika Pi."
Ash's screams continued into the night.
one year after
The dark circles beneath his eyes hadn't vanished. Ash rubbed his head with a thin, bony hand. "Where's this dangerous Pokemon," he muttered to the driver. Professor Oak and himself were helping the local officer with another dangerous situation.
"At dead creek," replied Officer Jenny. She suddenly hit the brakes.
The police car narrowly swerved around the crazy Pokemon.
Samuel Oak yelped as Officer Jenny carried him over her shoulder and jumped outside. Ash leaped out as the car exploded. An energy beam had pierced its metal, and ignited the gas tank.
The crazy Pokemon screamed in fury.
"Ala-Kazam!" continued to chant the Psychic Pokemon. Its pupils shrank as it stomped loudly. "Ala-Zam! Zam!" It sniffed the air, and it shared a mad wide smile, before it vanished.
"It's gone?" asked Jenny.
Immediately, another loud explosion followed, shaking the earth. The trio then heard a child's screams.
From behind the underbrush, the Alakazam had trapped a rookie trainer, no older than 10 years old. The boy was scuttled backwards near the rocky cliff side.
"Distract from the forest line," instructed Ash. "I'll get the child."
Professor Oak silently motioned to a purple vial he pulled from his robe. Ash's stare lingered on the vial of "attract" pheromones. Oak's cheeks reddened. "It'll work," he muttered.
Officer Jenny watched as they worked like clockwork. The plan would have succeeded too, if an unexpected third explosion from within the forest hadn't snapped the Alakazam back into its rage.
"Too many damn explosions," muttered Ash.
The Alakazam then fired a blast of energy. Ash pushed the boy out of the way. Ash screamed as the energy threw himself off the cliff. He felt weightlessness for a brief moment, before he felt the Psychic Pokemon's energy burn off his skin.
Ash had no time to scream when he hit the sharp ground. Something had pierced through his abdomen. The pain was eventually too much, and he succumbed to darkness.
Ash easily crawled from underneath a pile of soft blankets.
He stared blankly, noticing the large pillows nearby. "I'm not dead." He'd woken up in bed?
Ash sat inside his room. Rather than being boxed away, his figurines and posters now decorated the walls. Nearby, a Voltorb clock, perched on his bedside drawer, ticked loudly.
He leapt backwards as the alarm went off. Ash's slammed backwards into the wall. "Gargh!" he screamed.
The door clicked open. "Ash, wake up." A young brown-haired woman yawned noisily, before noticing her son sprawled on the ground. "Oh. You're already awake."
"Blugh?"
Delia Ketchum frowned. So typical. She scratched her belly. "Just hurry up," she commanded. "And clean up. You stink."
"Yea-Yeah..."
oOo
Near the edge of Pallet Town, 12-year-old Misty fished quietly.
