Academy of what! /Assassin's Guild
Have you ever wished that you could be good at something, have you felt that you where always being left behind, always the outcast and never succeeding in anything you try. This is a story of a girl who felt exactly that. But this is no ordinary story, for one; it did not take place in your ordinary world. It happened in a place the untrained mind cannot see, in a world that exists in every persons mind, hidden far away in the shadows of their long forgotten imagination. It is a world where anything can happen, where fantasy can become reality, where dreams are made real. For outsiders at least, for people born there it is a terrifying place, where anything can happen, Good or Bad. ShadowLand.
In this world there are four cities. Our story takes place in the smallest of these cities, the unimaginatively named city of Guildtown, in the country of Sunnyside. Now being in a world where anything is possible, this city was created solely for the purpose to house the countries Guilds, where there was certain to be a Guild for everything.
Now in this city of Guilds, there was the council of Guild Masters who ruled over all the city's affairs. And as magic is always the center of strange happening, The Creators had decided to make the high councilor the Guild Master of the Wizarding Guild. The Creators being ethereal being that live in our imaginations. And although the city seemed to be running fine, there is always an evil plot lying somewhere, waiting for the right time to strike.
Our story starts in a little cottage, just outside of town, with a beautiful garden and a giant oak tree shading most of the garden. Even when just walking in the gate, you could already hear a mother and daughter arguing loudly.
"But mother! You promised!" the girl pleaded, stamping her foot.
"You're still just a child, Scyler" her mother said calmly, while washing the dishes, "the promise was: that you could take the Guild Assessment Test when you're grown up."
"But I'm 11! If I wait any longer they won't let me take the test!"
"Yet here you are acting like a 5 year old." Her mother looked at her pointedly.
Scyler crossed her arms and stormed out of the room.
"Why does she have to be so much like her father?" her mother mumbled to herself, packing away the final dishes and following Scyler out of the room. "Don't be like that, dear," following Scylar to her favorite spot under the oak tree. "I just don't want to see my little girl grow up and leaving me here all alone." The lonely trick, that always works.
"Sorry mother, not this time. I am not falling for your silly tricks anymore."
Her mother tried to make the equivalent of puppy dog eyes.
Scyler stared at her for a while trying her hardest not to look away.
"Oh, alright already!" she gave in, "I'll come visit every weekend, now please will you sign my permission form."
"I suppose that's the most I'm going to get out of you. Alright dear, I'll take you to Professor Slugworth tomorrow, and no excuses." She said sarcastically, smiling softly.
"Oh thank you mother, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Scyler screamed, jumping up and down, and then giving her mother a big hug.
"Now remember Scy, this test will be only to see if you are qualified for one of the Guilds, you are not necessarily going to get in." Her mother warned her.
"Don't worry mom. With you and dad as my parents I'm bound to get in somewhere."
Scyler was ecstatic, her 11 year lifelong dreams where finally coming to, she will get the chance to show what she's got at the world's best -and only- Guilds.
