Hearing Voices! Obi-Wan
You failed them.
You failed them all.
Obi-Wan shook his head, trying to rid himself of the insinuating voice.
And him
The one you called brother.
The boy you loved as a son.
He heard voices, but these from the world of reality. "He's getting worse, Owen." A sigh. "I know, Beru. I know." The former Jedi felt something cool on his forehead. He heard Beru's warm voice again. "Come on, Ben. You're strong, come back to us." Her voice faded.
You said you would take care of him.
You promised you'd always be there.
Anakin's smiling face flashed before his eyes. He saw him as clearly as if nothing had ever happened. Then the smell of burning flesh. Anakin's screams flooded his mind, and the Master Jedi cried out in his fevered state. "No." he whimpered, tears falling down his face.
You left him there.
Left him there to die such a horrifying death.
He saw his once padawan's ravaged form, screaming and reaching out for him. Then he saw himself turning and walking away. Walking away from the man that turned into a monster. He kept walking, but turned once more. . . What he saw tore an agonized cry from his throat. Instead of the monster, he saw the boy. The sandy haired youngling was now dying on Mustafar's black shores. His bright blue eyes were clouded with pain, and his voice was a broken whisper. "Master, why are you leaving me?"
You said you'd never leave him.
The vision began to fade.
You lied.
